Damn when did Big W stop selling PC games?

Can't find any PC video games at all.

    • +2

Since steam took over it all I’m assuming

      • That was my guess also.

It feels like they have stopped selling PC video games for awhile now but I am trying to remember back to exactly around when.

        • Last proper PC release I remember was Fallout 4, which was later cleared out about a year later (to 2016).

          • @silverrat23: What date was that available in Big W up to for the PC platform?

Thanks a ton. Price matched MK11 on the Switch at EB.

    • FWIW - I got knocked back on price match for MK11 at EB Swanston St this afternoon on account of them not being able to confirm if Big W sale was a "Clearance Sale".

      Bought from Big W instead.

      Thanks OP.

knocked back on price match for MK11 at EB Swanston St this afternoon on account of them not being able to confirm if Big W sale was a "Clearance Sale".

Probably just terrible customer service and management at the Swanston St eb games.
I have only studied the most rudimentary marketing (MARK101) . And it is clearly just plain stupid in marketing and management, to reject a customers price match, and lose all and any 'goodwill' from that customer due to a single bad experience.
They teach, it is soooooooooo much easier, to do little things to keep your existing customers, compared to how difficult it is to attain a new customer and a new peice of the market share etc.

I have had 1 or 2 similar experiences with Eb games Wollongong former location (the staff and management there now are good, polite, and friendly) . They just made up any old ridiculous excuse, just to dupe the customer out of a legit price match (as promised/promoted on their advertising).
Like, it is pretty obvious how bad an impact it has on EB games as a company, when a customer feels like they have been duped, ripped off, lied to by salesperson, just to squirm out of giving a few $$ off on a legitimate price match request .

I had previous location of Wollongong store, tell me they would only price match if it was actually in the that same shopping centre. Well obviously when they pull that BS on customers, they would just go buy at the store in same centre with discount, then likely avoid EB games for a while after that.
It was probably about 5 years, until I walked into Wollongong EB games again, after the 1 dodgy asf experience where they refused price match for a nonsense excuse. This sort of thing hurts their profits in the end. Save a $20 by refusing price match, and then lose a customer for the next 5 years as they shop elsewhere.

        • basically the bad eggs was almost all EB games stores 12 years ago ?

EBgames are always like this. I had a similar issue where they said target had no stock left and that's why they wouldn't price match. I walked to the target 5 stores down in the same mall and when I asked they had 8 copies left. I cant remember the last time I bought games from EBgames after that experience.

Got MK11 PS4 version on Amazon AU for the same price with free delivery.

    Thank you OP.
Don't forget to price match at EB games, if you aren't 100% you want to keep the game.
I believe they still cover 7 days change of mind returns, on new games (and 14 for preowned) . Even if you finish game, can still return for full refund I believe.
    Unless their policy has changed.

  • Team Sonic Racing is $39 on Switch on Amazon, just noticed. Shame it's apparently not as good as its predecessor..

if in no rush to play worth waiting for an MK 11 ultimate edition etc with all DLC?

Staggering that FIFA20 Switch is only $10 cheaper than the PS4 and XB versions considering it is literally just PES19 with new kits and transfers.

    "Legacy mode" indeed.
