The Yamaha can have a sub added down the road, it also supports HDMI ARC which is handy.

Although you will be spending a bit more, I'd recommend the S350DB over these or a soundbar. Should be able to pick them up for under $350. As for your original question, I'd go these over the soundbar simply for the price.

They are brilliant. Got em last week for $107. Absolutely awesome options and great sound for price! Seriously impressed with Edifier!
Mine arrived today. It sounds way better than the Logitech boom speaker of similar price. The Edifier has a bit too much bass for my taste. I have dialed the bass down by just a little and treble up just a little.
+1 for these speakers, I paid $169 about 8 months ago and they are well worth that money.
