  • Does anyone know whether you can control the lights through a Logitech Harmony Hub without the Ikea gateway product? Just on/off and brightness.

The Philips lights can't be detected by the Harmony setup without the Bridge.

    • Not directly unless you have the harmony hub with zigbee support. You may be good if you have a Philips Hue bridge or Alexa Echo Plus

Play with it at the store. Seemed like rubbish, or at least the controller dial thing was.

  • The RGB one is only 600 lumens which is quite low. Price seems OK but product line really lacking. I have played this at IKEA and for ZigBee these are quite slow in terms on command activation (using the controller which should not require going through servers), about same speed as WiFi ones.

RGB has very little use. You show it off to your friends and maybe use it for notifications (if you run a managements system like Home Assistant) but outside of that they're pointless. Just get the 1000l whites.

Our baby sleeps in our room, so we set the brightness to 5% and set the light to red.

We found this is the best combination of night light and darkness.

Um I use colour features every day. Some ideas for you : kids (and maybe adult) parties, mood, entertainment sync, nest protect alarms, red night lights

          "red night lights"

You run your house at battle stations?

        I use LIFX scenes constantly with all RGB;
Bedtime = gradual 10min shift to 5% red throughout the apartment
Saturday Evening Chill = multi purples, reds and blues shifting slowly through 30 - 60% as jazz plays on the SONOS

Might have very little use for some, but I think you'll find if you have enough of them and are emotionally affected by lighting then it resonates more strongly

  • I tried all of them and afew bulbs works with mi gateway directly.

  • Gu10 price is okay but lumen quite low..

    • Personally I prefer lower lumen gu10s. I hate intense, uncovered ceiling lights. They're great in museums with 5m high ceilings but awful in most standard home installs. Just my personal opinion…

In my kitchen/dining i have 4 x 700lm for when im doing work. But then typically knock it back on the dimmer when eating.i just wanted to add voice control haha

  • The Ikea smart light range is a bit crappy, it's cheap for a reason, functionality wise is very limited. Better wait for the hue to go on sale on Amazon.

When are the Smart Blinds coming?

    • This is what I'd like to know, too.

  • Do I need the gateway in order to control the light bulb through its app?

    • I would assume so yes as they use zigbee wifi rather than traditional wifi.

  • Sweet, now I can get the 15% off without having to pay an extra $150 for a wireless speaker (that still has a power cable…).

  • Are the motion sensors any good? And can you adjust the sensitivity/active time on them?

  • Just bought a whole bunch of tradfri lights two weeks ago for a kitchen Reno, anyone knows if I can get the price difference back?

  • Would these lights work with a Philips Hue Hub or will I need a separate Hub?

  • Is it a general 15% off Tradfri, or as their Sale page says 15% off when purchased with one of the new Symfonisk speakers?

    • I think the sale has now been extended to include all purchases of Tradfri lighting.

  • Interestingly, the E37 980lm bulbs appear to have disappeared from the website. It was there when this deal was posted. I wonder if it's an error on the website or something else is at play.
