Bought this seat about a year ago. Can't really fault it. Solid product. Paid about $270 on special…

It has very good review on BabyBunting website as well.

  • Tempting as a second car seat….

  • Not gonna neg you, but it isn't much a deal, they are listed for $199 on the baby bunting website.

Not gonna neg you, but you might wanna check your facts. This one is isofix, the $199 is not

Sorry everybody didnt mean to offend….I stand corrected, didnt know they still made seats without Isofix…

        • You'll find most of the cheaper ones are non-ISOFIX. You do have exceptions, but yeah non-ISO are cheaper.

Then you come across cars like the current Honda Jazz which don't have ISOFIX (as I found out trying to install a seat into my mother in-law's Jazz!)

        • It's okay. There are so many models, it is hard to differentiate.

  • Buy this or Safe n Sound Graphene? Any advice? Thanks

    • I have the Graphene - managed to get it for $409.
The Graphene is same width, about the same height, but much shorter depth.

I'm considering this Kompressor as a second for my car as it's larger than my wife's (which is why we went the compact Graphene).

      • Car seats website gives graphene good ratings, seems like everyone's favourite (forums, friends etc)..we are having our 1st child in December so have no idea about prams/car seats..car seat will be fixed in an outlander..

        • We went a capsule first (Joie I-Gemm). I personally found it much easier as you can put bub in and out of the car while they are still sleeping etc. Also strapping them in whilst out of the car was much easier. But as they get older they get much heavier, so it's a bit more grunt work lifting it into the car. He will move to the Graphene in the next week or so. I also felt the capsule was a safer option for when they are newborn.

The Graphene is really nice, well made, and looks very comfy. Reviews are good all around, and it's one of the most compact seats you can get (great for our small wagon).

          • @nafe: Thanks! I think capsule might be the way to go..it is an extra expense but if the bub is gonna keep sleeping then well worth it..

            • @stockastics: I didn't regret it one bit. It's a personal preference though. Also, if you get a good deal, you can always sell it after and recoup some money, or keep it for #2 ;)

            • @stockastics: We hired a capsule for 6mths (as I found it crazy expensive to buy one) then switched over to the Graphene and we found it the best way to go. As @nafe mentioned, getting bub in and out of the car while still sleeping was a godsend. Bought the Baby Jogger GT and had the adaptors thrown in so we could easily go from the car to the pram and vice-versa.
The Graphene fits easily in our Sportage and my brother had a new-model Outlander and found the Graphene to take up the least amount of room.

              • @crumbo85: Great, thank you! It's all a little daunting at the moment..maybe coz 1st child..

                • +1

@stockastics: It can be, just be as prepared as you can, there will ALWAYS be something you don't expect lol :)

                  • @nafe: Do you have to buy IsoFix capsules? I am planning on getting the capsule installed at the mechanic. Thanks

                    • @stockastics: Don't have to, the cheaper capsules are available as non-ISOFIX as well. That said, an ISOFIX can be installed using the seatbelt too, so you have options if you have to switch cars etc. I personally find ISOFIX way easier to install, and much easier to get right.

              • @crumbo85: Where do you hire capsules from and what are the prices like?

                • @22slurpee: A quick google should show places near you.

Most seem to be around $150-200 for 6 month rental.

Bear in mind, if you happen to have a smaller bub, you may need them in the capsule for longer. A friend hired one, and has spent almost as much as buying a new one as he had to extend for an additional 6 months!

  • Can any recommend a seat for a 3 year old, which is convertible, that will last to 8 years old?
Had a look at http://www.childcarseats.com.au/ comparison website for convertible seats, some have 4.5-4.8 ratings, but when you go into detail about the protection they offer in the testing eg. forward or sideways head displacement, features marked as critical… they only get one star.

    • I bought this for my then three-year-old last year after going cross eyed from reading ratings and reviews. We had it for a year now and no issues with it.

Highly recommend the Britax Maxi guard pro. If you join any of the car seat group discussions on Facebook, all of the fitters there always recommend this seat if budget isn't an issue

      • Thanks mate

      • I ended up grabbing maxi guard pro, with discount code came down to $422 then used eBay gift cards bought from eBay.Co.UK discounted by 10% so it's only cost me $379.89

        • Hi walahbro, would you be able to take a screenshot of being able to use the pantsuit for babybunting as a seller?

We would really appreciate it as the expiry of the code should've been 31st October so we were waiting for our ebay gift card to arrive, but today they decided to change the code t&c, and make it unavailable for us to use the pantsuit code, and are asking us to show a screenshot that it worked 48h ago. Thank you so much!!!!

@sherbules: happy to help, not sure how to add an attachment, send me your email via private message and I'll send you a copy.

  • I have this. These are particularly good if you're installing them in a small car as the footprint is on the smaller side, compared to others.

  • Still waiting for platinum pro plus to hit sub $600 again like the last bunting catalogue.

  • Anyone know if this can be used in a non ISO fix car. My car has it but gotta get a new one and it might not

    • Unless you plan to move to a much older car, you shouldn't have issues. My 2011 Hyundai has isofix.

      • I was looking at a 2010 camry, they dont have isofix til 2016

        www.budgetdirect.com.au/blog/what-cars-have-isofix-in-austra…

My 07 Polo has it, but thats because VW invented it

        • Wonder why my 2011 Passat doesn't have it then?

          • @groook: Are you sure it doesn't? Theres two ways of marking it, either a small fabric tag saying ISOFIX, or a couple of small plastic "buttons". The ISOFIX points are buried down between the seatback and cushion. Some cars have it mounted on the cushion now, so it's really obvious (my wife's 2018 car has this, my 2013 VW is buried).

      • Depends on the manufacturer. 2018 Honda Jazz has no ISOFIX….. crazy in this day and age!

        • Really? Then again, I'd be reluctant to put a small child into something that small and light.

          • @Make it so: I was super surprised when I went to fit the seat. It's my mother in law's car, so it'll only be very occasional trips or emergency trips. What a pain it was fitting the seat using the seatbelt, and then the top tether doesn't reach because it's installed rear facing. Had to go buy an extension strap as well :(
