Half price Danish Fetta cheese at Woolies this week. Hasn't been this price since Feb according to PriceHipster.
As noted by commenters last time it was on sale, it is not genuine feta but gets around naming issues with the extra T.

Danish Φέτα would be quite funny.
Ingredients
A Cheese Prepared From Pasteurised Cows Milk, Palm Oil, Salt, Starter Cultures, Microbial Rennet, lipase.
I wonder what the percentage of palm oil in this cheese is, as an excessive amount of that stuff could be harmful to the heart.
So you get fatta.
…i dont care if its fetta..its creamy tangy salty & i like it!
I prefer this
I'd buy a stack but it doesn't last very long.
Does anyone have their own way of making it last longer, maybe dicing it up into a jar of the marinated feta (after said feta has been consumed)?
How long did you find it to last? Was thinking to buy it tonight, but might hold on if it goes bad very fast.
About a week.
…we tried the olive oil marinade method. unfortunately doesnt suit and tends to separate / get mushy
i keep it in the deli bag in a sealable air tight container…good for a week or two
For marinating, you need a proper Greek (or Australian) feta - firmer cheese consistency and holes and pores are what makes it a good base for marinating.
Danish "feta" is not good for that - it's too soft so will get mushy, and without pores marinade can't be infused any deeper than just a bit on the surface.
Try boiling salt with water then let it to cool down and use as a brine. Put them both in a container with a lid. Will last 2-3 weeks longer.
..how much salt do you recommend to use?
@franco cozzo: 1 table spoon per cup of water
For what it’s worth my Aussie wife and our Aussie/Greek kids prefer Danish Fetta as it doesn’t have the bite of the Greek or Bulgarian feta. It’s creamier and smoother.
I shoulda married a Greek…
I’m in the same situation…..tell me about it…no olives as well
This skippy loves Kalamata.
Only Dodoni in my house
Real feta is not made from cows milk.
Australian food labelling probably should have some standards. Japanese soba is 100% buckwheat. Australian made soba at supermarkets is about 5%.
Same with Halloumi. Riverina Dairy sold at woolies uses cow milk and try to sell it at the same price as sheep's milk Halloumi.
Is the expiry date correct? 💐
Bought some today and it actually tasted like the real Greek feta this time. Did I get a good batch?
Don't try and freeze it either. It tastes foul :(
