Good when u are only in a destination for a day.
Credit Expiry
The Woolworths Global Roaming Voice & Data SIM will no longer be available on and from 30 November 2019. If you purchase credit for the Woolworths Global Roaming Voice & Data SIM before 30 November 2019, the credit you purchase will expire on the date that is the earlier of 30 November 2019 or 180 days from the date of purchase.
That's an important detail that people should be aware of. Do you have a link though? I had a look on the catalogue listing and the item description but could t find the fine print you posted above
Different product.
The voice and data Sim is being shut down.
This is the data only Sim which is not being shut down. The 200mb data is valid for 180 days.
Going overseas to Asia for a month. Anyone have any recommendations for a decent mobile plan?
Buy a local sim almost always cheaper. Or Optus roaming plans. Wouldn’t recommend voda for a month. Try search simsdirect.
What is this, a data sim for ants?
Used a woolies international sim once. Absolute rubbish. Just didn't work in a couple of countries despite those countries being listed on their website.
My favourite sim is united global sim because it covers a lot of weird countries. Probably better value elsewhere for more mainstream countries.
Which countries? I've been planning to use this SIM on a trip soon.
Places like Belarus and some of the Balkans countries. Found it to be better coverage than most other internation sims.
You can see what's covered here -> https://www.unitedglobalsim.com/en/shop/data-pack
Zone 1 is good value, Zone 2 is expensive but might be worth it if you're heading to some places that aren't covered elsewhere.
Actually my reply was to the claim that you didn't get the promised coverage from the Woolworths sim. I've used it before successfully.
(But thanks for the other info)
Is that the esim you use or the physical sim from united global?
@Bellyup: I've only used the physical sim.
What about this? (from their website… I have one already)
Important notice – Airtime Credit is valid until 30th November, 2019:
On 30 November 2019 the Service will be discontinued, and all credit will automatically expire on that date. On 31 October 2019 we will cease the sale of all airtime credit on the Woolworths Mobile Global Roaming Voice SIM Cards.
The notice is referring to the discontinued old voice SIM product, not this new one.
With this data only Sim, additional data bundles can be purchased once the starter 200Mb is used up. With Google maps using an average of 0.73MB per 20 min, the 200MB is a decent amount to get started from the airport to your holiday destinations.
You can always preload the map on WiFi if you know the route.
any idea when would be the last date to activate?
I brought a few with me to Europe (3 to be precise) and lasted 2 weeks across 3 countries.
Worked out much better than local sim as sim from one country can not be used as a local data sim in another. Can be costly.
When on holiday, enjoy the destination instead of ozbargain. :)
nice
Bought this - didn’t work - been escalating for 5 days - finally got a response today saying they’ve identified an issue and will fix as soon as they can! Absolute garbage
Waste of time. Not enough data to be useful.
