    I'm pretty sure I got this model 2 years ago for about the same price…so this isn't an amazing price.

  Seems higher than past prices. I have an old dyson dc44 and a newly bought miele c1, which was only about 160 bucks. The miele has far higher suction power. If you don't need the cordless feature I would strongly suggest getting a miele c1 over the much more expensive dyson models, although the v7 and V8 models have better suction than their older models.

  This is the everyday price for Dyson V8 Animal in US/China. And I am sad that we Australians are ripped off so hard.

  The V8 Animal is still available at Myers 20% off price (now $477.60), I'm guessing this should be a winner over the V7 animal at a slightly lower price.
