Scoopon-Mr Handyman Scam Deal: Another Dodgy deal from Scoopon

I bought $45 dollar 2 hours Handyman deal which is an absolutely scam. The Handyman dealer have a website, no contact number. Everytime I put a request in their website, there is an automated email saying " your request has been receieved, please be patient….." nothing happens after that….no one calls, no email and the time goes by.

The most worrying fact is that Scoopon people are aware of this dodgy deal, because it was escalated in the past from other customers, but they will NOT help you. When I sent the email to Scoopon detailing my problem of month long chase up with Mr Handyman, they advised they have reported to Mr Handyman and someone will contact me from Mr Handyman which never happened in the past and now.

The deal will expire in 1 August, and now I am fade up sending emails after emails to Mr Handyman and Scoopon people. Its just wastage of time and money. Dont know why Scoopon doesn't step up and assist customer, it seems Scoopon is another dodgy vendor who would publish dodgy deals with the help of other dodgy dealers to rob people and will NOT take any ownership of customer problems.

Here is the emails response from Scoopon…. which was documented in every steps… I am going to log a case against Scoopon in Fair Trading.

Scoopon knows it’s a dodgy deal…it was escalated in the past from other people….then what’s the point of redirecting customers to dodgy dealers and advise them to wait for service….it never happens…doesn’t make any sense !!!

I have again sent multiple emails to Scoopon to follow up, to notice them Mr Handyman didn't respond, not only in 2 days, but in 20 days, but unfortunately the following is the only email received from Scoopon, no further response from Scoopon… because they don't want to take any responsibility for the dodgy deal they offered !!!

I am fade up, just letting people know so that they are aware of Scoopon Scams !!!

  • I shouldn't have bought the deal in the first place, never thought it would be such a hassle and at the end loosing money when I wanted to save money !!!

    Do yourself a favour and lodge a complaint with Dept of Fair Trading. I had problems with Scoopon with another deal and after weeks of Scoopon customer service keeping me waiting with scripted email responses I decided to stop allowing them to give me the run around and contacted Dept of Fair Trading directly. Go to Fair Trading NSW website and check out the new consumer legislation. Scoopon entered into a consumer contract with you which neither they nor their client are willing to honour. This is neither your fault nor your problem. You purchased this voucher in good faith that you would receive a goods or service, not the IDEA of the service. And given that you have been attempting to redeem this voucher unsuccessfully and well before the expiry date, you are well within your rights to request a refund. The Dept of Fair Trading are fantastic and I had a Scoopon customer service manager contact me within only a few days of lodging my fair trading complaint online to offer a refund. Its a lot of run around but why should you be out of pocket for their dodgy practices. Good luck!
