Hi guys,
So I have been feeling some back pains lately after sitting for long hours so I reckon it might be good to get a better chair. What is your recommendations for a decent chair that does not break the bank? Budget is around $100-$150.
Thank you all!

anything that is comfy is okay for my need. I'm using a left over from my old housemate, who has been using it for 4 years so it's pretty old.
Work on posture first. Though the most important thing is to just not sit for that long at a time - get up every hour and stretch.
Thanks for the suggestion. I have been paying attention to that as well but I'm currently practising a test that requires me to sit for a few hours straight so couldn't avoid long hours :(
Oh. That's not ideal. As Hybroid says though, your budget unfortunately isn't going to go very far towards a serious ergonomic chair, especially for long periods of stressful sitting.
Go into an Officeworks and try this one out maybe:

This is really subjective and will differ for people, there's no one stop shop for chairs for all body shapes and sizes. Aeron Herman Miller office chairs are considered top notch but I don't personally find them comfortable at all.
You're also not going to find anything great at that price point.
This IKEA chair is perfectly fine for daily use: https://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/00339416/
You can get some trying-to-do-it-all ones but beware low quality and faux leather that will peel in couple weeks: https://www.amazon.com.au/Massage-Executive-Computer-Leather…
You can also get 'gaming' chairs that are possibly good but again quality will vary and unless you're paying top dollar it's hit and miss:

Plenty other options available.wow thanks for the reply. That is really detailed indeed. I'm more inclined toward the IKEA one as it seems to be quite decent.

yea I'm aware of this as well. Didn't set my expectation high as I only need something decent to replace my current one, which is pretty much used. Thanks again. Then I suggest the IKEA one and a nice thick cushion from Kmart.
This one in particular: https://www.kmart.com.au/product/flynn-cushion---grey/233530…
what about a silverchair?
What kind of chair are you after?…an office chair?…an armchair?
