Seiki 65 inches 4K Ultra HD Smart Netflix and YouTube LED TV

No idea if it's any better than the Bauhn one that's going to be selling at Aldi on Saturday but at least you get free delivery plus cashrewards/shopback.

This is the only review I could find anywhere for this model (from Appliancesonline.com.au):

I bought the Sieki 65 inch tv. I ordered it at 10 oclock at night and it was delivered by Appliances Online the next day at 8.30 am. Unbelievable service The Sieki has a very good picture quality. The audio quality is acceptable for a flat screen tv, but I have added a sound bar and subwoofer, which is run through a hdmi arc cable, which provides great sound for movies etc (The arc cable is not supplied however the tv comes with an optical audio cable) One issue I have had using audio through the arc is audio lag (spoken words not in synch with mouth movement). This is fixed by turning the sound bar off then on. The remote control is both good and bad Pros: The remote comes with air mouse and has a key board on the back which is great for typing in searches Cons: The air mouse can become difficult to control at times and is difficult to direct. The TVs operating system is not the best and locks up from time to time. You need to work out when the system requires you to scroll or use the air mouse. The TV set up is easy straight out of the box. The other negative is there is no power button on the tv so you can't turn tv off from standby mode. I also found it a little difficult to install apps but that may be just me.

  • $10 per inch.

    • Thanks.

TDLR: Probably no warranty from Seiki Australia

        TDLR? Lol. Apart from your dyslexic acronym, it was a very short article;

'ANONZ is offering a three-year warranty on Seiki goods currently being sold in Australia.'

        • 😂

You’re right. Thanks for the correction. 🤣

        • It was a case of TS;DR, otherwise known as DR.

    No HDR support though

    • The Aldi one doesn't have it either - they're very similar in specs although the Seiki confirms it has smart functions. I couldn't find any such confirmation of the Aldi one.

I literally just had a look at cheap tvs in BigW about an hour ago and one of the ones they had on clearance was an EKO K650SA for $699 down from $899 and it looks identical to this Seiki TV except a different android based operating system (Aptoide?) on the one in BigW - link here https://www.ekoconsumer.com.au/k650sa.

TBH, I will probably just hold out and grab the ALDI Bauhn on sale this weekend.

    • If your local aldi has a decent stock level.. I got a tv once from aldi, the shopping experience at doors open wasn't great

    • This one also has Aptoide. Rest of the specs look identical too. Probably the same TV.

        Likely a rebranded yumcha brand.

  • My Seiko 55" FHD bought from DSE in 2014 is still going strong!

    • Seiko did make a TV watch (1.25"), but I think you mean Seiki.

      • Damn autocorrect.

  • I have this brand but slightly smaller model. Pretty happy with it. Was only $250 second hand on Gumtree, but original owner bought it in January.

  • Why do people buy these crappy TV's?

    • Because people seem to think that the big brands are just price gouging but they dont realise their eyesight is that poor that they cant tell the difference between a crap tv and a good tv so cant justify spending more than this.

      • Hmm I guess.

I suppose people put value on different things.

I never see any point but spending the most amount of money you can afford on a tv

Even if you only watch one movie a week - it's worth an expensive TV.

But I'm assuming people are using it to justify it's existence. Like watch something arty or where thought and effort were involved

If they're watching construction workers make cakes and whatever new garbage netfliz has out, might as well have it look like crap

Well no amount of 4k hdr will make a rubbish fta show any better.

          • @xoom: Trying to understand how people can watch fta in Australia will always baffle me.

Then again, I don't really get anything any more. (especially grammar - having a 4th grade education has its downsides)

I suppose it's Time to return to my home planet
