With the great Calamity due next week, I will stock up my shelter with mint slices. They are perfect for end times because they taste awful and God cannot get offended by my decadence.

    • +3

      great Calamity?

Maybe I'll grab some popcorn and a six pack too.
      (for when nothing happens)

So are the Timtam eaters going into rapture? I think they are already. :)

      • I know I am, because I've already been through hell

  • +1

i love timtam. is it for all flavors?

  • there goes my feeble attempt at "only eating healthy" food in the office.

  • Damn them and my waste line … better than the 3 for $5 at Coles the other week. Just glad I don't usually shop at Woolworths so can avoid them :D

I've cleaned out a whole Coles a few times.

  • +2

YAY! No more home-brand woolworths timtams for me. =D

  • 150 - 200g <——- is it me or thats decreased over the years?

FYI wanted to share this all with you just so we dont go too overboard :)

"The chocolate coating in Tim Tams is not made from cocoa, but a mixture of artificial colours of Tartrazine (102), Sunset Yellow (110), Allura Red (129), Brilliant Blue (133) and Caramel (150). These additives are all suspect carcinogens" Source: http://www.nutritionandyou.com.au/100toxicfoodchemicalsinone…

The use of tartrazine is banned in Norway, and was also banned in Austria and Germany until the ban was overturned by a European Union directive

The United Kingdom's Food Standards Agency in April 2008 called for a voluntary phase-out of tartrazine, along with five other colorings, due to a reported link with hyperactivity in children

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tartrazine (and appeared on a few other websites)

Please dont flame, just sharing it with you in case you would like to know. Why do tim tams have to be so yummy!

    • Good post bro…

Hmmm… so what do we do? Eat or not eat?

      • +1

enjoy. just spent $20 at woolies :)

        • +3

You should spend additional $10 on tim tams to get the 4cents of fuel… thats the true spirit of a OZbargainer…

      • +1

I think eat is okay but just in moderation…

Dont do what i did and eat 1 or 2 packets at once haha

    • Rumors began circulating about tartrazine in the 1990s regarding a link to its consumption and adverse effects on male potency, testicle and penis size, and sperm count. There are no documented cases supporting the claim tartrazine will shrink a man's penis or cause it to stop growing.

      Wiki

      • I really doubt that Woolies would be selling us food that is toxic or which are not Australian standards. Possibly the reject shop would be more likely to be selling such products, since some of them are 'parallel imports' from Asian countries.

So I must have consumed a lot of tartrazine as a child.

It also explains my ADHD and tendency to post stupid comments on this site.

Too much info out there in the world lol, i rather just avoid to be safe or …. maybe I eat just 1 packet hahaha
