Hi all, I remember you used to be able to just delete search history by clicking "X" in google map android app, but that function seems to be missing? I deleted timeline & location history, but the search term still shows up as drop down on search bar. How to fix? Tried googling to no avail. Could only find how to delete location history, which didn't help. How to fix please? Thanks!

On another thought, could it be the history stay with my other phone? I did just switch to new phone.
Google Maps -> Settings -> Maps History -> Scroll down until you see a list of dates and activities.
Click on the three dots to delete it.
alternatively, using a web browser, visit https://myactivity.google.com/myactivity?product=12 (you'll need to be signed into your Google account for this URL to work) and you can click the trash can icon to wipe your maps search history on a per-day basis
