Description

American Gangster:

Academy Award winners Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe team with director Ridley Scott (Gladiator) in this powerful, epic story. Armed with ruthless, streetwise tactics and a strict sense of honour, crime boss Frank Lucas (Washington) rules Harlem's chaotic drug underworld. When outcast cop Richie Roberts (Crowe) sets out to bring down Lucas's multimillion-dollar empire, it plunges both men into a legendary confrontation.

Green Zone:

Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum, United 93) re-team for their latest electrifying thriller in Green Zone, a film set in the chaotic early days of the Iraqi War when no one could be trusted and every decision could detonate unforeseen consequences.

Inglourious Basterds:

In German-occupied France, Shosanna Dreyfus witnesses the execution of her family at the hand of Nazi Colonel Hans Landa. Shosanna narrowly escapes and flees to Paris, where she forges a new identity as the owner and operator of a cinema. Elsewhere in Europe, Lieutenant Aldo Raine organizes a group of Jewish soldiers to engage in targeted acts of retribution. Known to their enemy as “The Basterds,” Raine’s squad joins German actress and undercover agent Bridget Von Hammersmark on a mission to take down the leaders of The Third Reich. Fates converge under a cinema marquee, where Shosanna is poised to carry out a revenge plan of her own…

Kick Ass:

The life of Dave Lizewski is one of scarce problems; his day to day actions rarely stray from reading the comic books that he loves oh so much. Dave has a nice life and is content with it until the day he decides to change, he decides to make a difference with his life, he decides to become a Superhero!

Dave’s life suddenly changes when he walks out of his house clad with superhero mask and a decorative baseball bat, the only problem with Dave being a superhero… he has no powers. But like all good comic book readers, this doesn’t matter to Dave; his dream will not be swayed just because he lacks the skills of your everyday superhero.

The Kingdom:

Oscar winners Jamie Foxx (Collateral) and Chris Cooper (Jarhead) team up with Jennifer Garner (Daredevil) and Jason Bateman (Smokin’ Aces) to ignite the screen in this high-intensity action thriller.
A team of elite FBI agents sent to Saudi Arabia to solve a brutal mass murder find themselves in a race against time to find a killer before he strikes again.

Out of their element, under heavy fire and trusting no-one, the team must join forces with their Saudi counterparts. As these unlikely allies begin to unlock the secrets of the crime, the team is led into a heart-stopping, do-or-die confrontation.

Public Enemies:

From visionary director Michael Mann (Heat, Collateral) comes the film inspired by one of the country’s most captivating and infamous outlaws – John Dillinger.

Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean series) stars as the charismatic and elusive bank robber marked by the FBI as America’s “Public Enemy Number One.” Academy Award® winner* Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose) plays Billie Frechette, the only woman capable of capturing his heart. Hunted relentlessly by top FBI agent Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale, The Dark Knight), Dillinger engages in an escalating game of cat and mouse that culminates in an explosive legendary showdown.

Robin Hood:

Academy Award winner Russell Crowe reunites with legendary Gladiator director Ridley Scott for epic action adventure in Robin Hood.

Discover the untold story of the man behind the legend as Robin, a heroic warrior, turns outlaw when he assembles a band of skilled marauders to confront injustice and lead an uprising against a weak and corrupt English King.

The Ultimate Bourne Collection:

The explosive action trilogy that takes you to the edge of your seat and leaves you breathless for more!

Matt Damon is trained assassin Jason Bourne, a single man on a pursuit to uncover the deadly covert conspiracy that stole his identity, robbed him of the love of his life and sent a legion of highly trained killers to eliminate him.

See the entire Bourne trilogy unfold with heart-stopping action, death-defying stunts and incredible white-knuckle excitement.

Back To The Future Trilogy:

Experience the Back To The Future Trilogy like never before for the first time on Blu-ray with over 2 hours of new bonus features.

Gladiator:

kinda suspicious but some on call them!

    • +4

      You call them ;)

      • +7

Amen. I love these "did/can anyone" questions.

New internet rule: if you think of a job that anyone can do or a question anybody can answer…

        …be that "somebody" ;)

    • Just pay with PayPal and you're safe anyway… This is a no brainer.

  • Aww my god what a deal, ordered with Internet Explorer on my netbook, to get the Australia to show up I had to make a new account. Paid with PayPal no problems.

  • I also got a £10 cash back link after I put my order through (I also had it gift wrapped)

EDIT, you have to sign up to be a member which is £14.95 a month after that, no deal there

    • i think you need a UK address/postcode as well. =P

  • +2

Now I have to buy a bloody blu ray player becoz of this!

    • +1

If you can still find stock, the Sony S370 is a great Bluray player + DLNA steamer + internet media streamer. Sanity had them for $99 a while back.

  • +1

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/47244

    It is obviously a misprint.

    • -1

Really? Cos the actual charge on the invoice is 10 pound also. They made a stuff up on the webpage and the stock price list? Doubt it!

      • +1

It has been reduced from £85 to £10.85 in a span of 2 weeks. Draw your own conclusion ;)

        • The total savings has been specified as well as price advertised and logged in their system. Conclusion not finalised, will await their response.

        • The total savings has been specified as well as price advertised and logged in their system.

Uhh.. Yeh. It's the same system, same price. They don't put in RRP, price and price saved. Price saved is calculated from RRP-price…

  • what a day!!!!!

  • +1

And Zavvi don't charge until the order is shipped.. so.. :/

    • Also means that they are less inclined to fulfill the order if stock runs out.

  • ordered one, fingers crossed.

  • Good luck everyone!
I also ordered. Some bargains are just too good to pass up, if it works out.

  • I own everything but Bourne, still bought one though. Unbelievable deal…

  • +1

    This is cheaper than renting!

  • +1

if it is a stuff up.

Section 9 of the Zavvi Terms & Conditions: "The conclusion of a contract between you and us will take place when we (i) debit your credit, debit card or PayPal account or (ii) dispatch the goods to you or commence the services, whichever is the later"

    dont get your hopes up.

    • +3

But what is there to lose? Even though this is most likely a pricing error, I have ordered a tonne of stuff from Zavvi for prices that would be considered insane over here in Australia - So what do we have to lose? 2 minutes placing an order - and you get either an apology letter OR a huge bunch of cheap movies!

      • +1

I ordered several copies myself. Nothing to lose. Just saying.

      • But what is there to lose? your credit card details

        • Except that Zavvi are a well established online store, and one I have personally bought from them on many occasions (I actually have a package from the sitting at the post office).

If someone worked out a way to take my financial details from these guys they would have done it without the need for a something like this. It isn't like this offer came in an unsolicited email from a Nigerian Prince or something…

    • a contract is formed from an offer and acceptance. The website is simply an offer to treat and by ordering you are making the offer. This means acceptance occurs basically when they accept your offer by dispatching.

I figure worst case scenario they'll just refund my money. You never know they might accept in order to not suffer the bad will..

  • well if it is a stuff up, nothing to lose anyway!

  • Just brought one.. Thanks Troyww… you are a legend!

  • Just ordered on the off chance they honour this… but expecting it to be a typo.. would more likely be 108.50..

  • +3

eBay will be flooded with these movies if the deal goes through.

  • i tried zavvi IE8 and couldn't get australia, so purchased through The Hut.

then for a laugh, i tried zavvi again using FF 3.6…australia worked! so what the hell, i purchased another one!

    fingers crossed they come through!

  • +2

Robin Hood and Back to the Future Series would make good coasters when I sit back and crack a Tinnie watching Gladiator.

    • +3

Back to the Future is probably the best blu-ray in this pack.

  • I tried but I don't get Australia in the list of countries =( Still a good deal for those that have accounts.

    • Try using internet explorer… if it still doesn't work make a new account an then try with internet explorer. Worked for me.

  • i cannot find australia on either "thehut or zavii", anyone having same problem?

    • Try IE

      • I've tried IE 9 and FF 4.

        • IE9 didn't work for me, so I used IE6 in XP mode.

        • Make a new account using IE and then try

    • you need to create an account first mate, australia is selectable when you set your mailing address default.

    • Try either Firefox, Chrome or IE. It changes. I tried with Firefox the first time, and no Australia. I tried with Chrome and it worked. Today I had to try IE.

Try Opera or some other browser as well. It'll show up.

    • If you have an iPhone, download the Zavvi or TheHut.com app as both allow you to select Australia!

  • hmmm…. not sure if they'd honour this!!! "This email is an acknowledgement of receipt of your order. Your contract to purchase these items is not complete until we send you an email confirming that the items have been dispatched to you."

  • just ordered! thanks OP!

yeah yeah, i know zavvi is going to take forever to get here (always takes longer than amazon.uk… weeks longer), but at this price I can wait :).

  • Anyone have any idea of how I'd do this on a Mac?
Y U NO WORK WITH SAFARI?

    • u me same same.
go to thehut.com - lets you choose AUS in safari no problemo

      • I tried that, but its not even working on thehut for me.

        • +2

Billions of bilious blue blistering barnacles!

        • See my reply re iPhone from above if you have an iPhone. Not sure if they have similar web apps or Android apps.

    • Hi there. I found that using Firefox on the Mac worked for me. Neither Safari nor Chrome worked but using Firefox presented no problems. Luckily I'm a geek so have multiple browsers "lying around" ;P

    • i used safari for windows and i had no problem!

  • ordered
chances looks slim way too cheap
wast this in a bundle with some blu ray player recently?

  • -3

Can't choose Australia with paypal in either IE7 or Firefox. help?

    • read previous comments mate, u need to create account first (and select australian default postal address)

  • Superb, just picked up one for my brother back in blighty!

  • +1

OK cool, firefox worked, IE and CHROME did not, now fingers crossed.
if this is true its deal of the year hands down:)

  • It's ~3am in the UK, so no one is answering the phones.

  • +1

ordered via thehut - what the hell, just in case they honour it.
Suspect it was meant to be 80.84 GBP and someone goofed on the first digit.

Will probably be like the Dell deal and they will cancel it and give us a counter offer of 75GBP or something as recompense for their error.

  • bought from 'the hut.com' same price, and no 'australia' shipping problem

  • +1

I find it strange that this is not advertised on their webpage. There is no banner for it. And their website is full of banners advertising deals!

I would not buy this by entering credit card details directly.

I will be checking my credit card daily to be sure only one paypal transaction is conducted. And honestly, I'll probably request a new cc number too! But I am paranoid…

  • +1

    It's real.

The Hut (owns Zavvi) has the deal as well:
    http://www.thehut.com/blu-ray/ultimate-action-blu-ray-bundle…

    • nice find Mr_K. I hope this means that zavvi and the hut aren't both hacked

      • yeah the fact one company owns the other doesnt tell me that its a real deal. Perhaps some of their deals are filtered between the two sites?

  • +1

Promised my wife I would stop buying things on a whim … damn you OzBargain!

BTW how did you find this deal???

  • Any idea if these will work on a region 4 player or Australian model ps3 ?

    • +1

Australia blu-ray uses the same region as the UK, which isn't region 4. It's region B.

    • +2

      Short answer: Yes.

      Long answer:
There is no such thing as a region 4 blu-ray. Region 4 is for DVD. (Australia is region 4, UK is region 2 for DVD)
Australia and the UK are the same region for blu-ray (Region B). So, yes, blu-rays from amazon.co.uk or zavvi.com will work perfectly in your Australian PS3.

      • Thanks for the detailed responses Rockinrors and Lacerta. I hope they honor this deal, I have never owned a blu-ray disk before

  • +2

Note for those using PayPal, I've tried many times in the past to order with PayPal before on Zavvi and it has never worked. It all goes through, but at some later time, I get an email from Zavvi telling me that there was a payment problem, and then the PayPal charge is reversed, and I have to cancel the order. Did it 3 times last time, before having to use a credit card and it went through immediately. It appears to be a common problem, as they have a FAQ listed about it here:

    http://help.zavvi.com/index.php?action=artikel&cat=5&id=103&…

Now, I think my issue is that my PayPal email address is different to the email address I use for Zavvi, and so that may be the cause of the problem (although I did add my Zavvi account email to PayPal as a secondary account, but this didn't help).

    • Thanks for the heads up

  • Just ordered via PayPal.
    Hope wont wait too long.

  • Thank you!

  • lol, after I clicked the plus button, it jumped from 120 to 129, I think this deal will definitely be ozbargained.

  • Bought via The Hut using Paypal. Lets see if this works. If so, this will be the biggest best bargain I've ever bought.

  • Make sure u use paypal, I once used a cc with Zavvi and details were stolen and used somewhere in Uk to buy bird seeds!

They didn't offer paypal at the time so I used my brand new unused card and low behold a week later my cc is being charged bird seeds from the uk !

    • +2

LOL, you lucky they only bought bird seed and not a 100inch LCD TV and a holiday to Bermuda.

    • lol birds seeds…wtf? yeah i wouldnt be touching this without paypal!

      • Marijuana seeds are/were legally sold as bird seeds in UK..

  • Great deal.. Bought one !!

  • Guys.. refer this http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/47244

This was posted 10 days ago for $130

    • +1

Yeh I mentioned this earlier but greed is blind.

  • Thanks for spotting this - haven't bought any blu-rays yet!

  • wow this is popular!

  • Oh gees!! What an awesome deal, bought myself 2 sets, but not holding my breath. Also paid with paypal, too scared otherwise (even though Zavvi has a good rep, you never know).
    ROCK ON!

  • what happens if this is hacked and we use paypal?

  • 99% it will not go through, they will cancel it

    • If this is the case, they aren't worth bothering with via credit card. No business has the right or excuse to cancel an order on the premise of it being purchased using PayPal. Dodgy. PayPal or nothing, credit card too risky.

  • Ordered a few sets, perfect X'mas present XD

  • -1

Have ordered but the chance of this being legit is somewhere between nil and 0.1% so don't ask me why I ordered. If any1 can recall even 1 time when a company offered popular products 90% cheaper than what the nearest competitor is selling them for and then actually honoured the deal I will retract my statement.

    • -1

i ordered, but no way this will go through…. its a mistake.
back to future and bourne trilogy's just as a double pack wouldnt sell for 10 pounds, no way they are throwing in a handful of other good titles as well for same price. but i still ordered it anyway, just in case. nothing to lose really :).
