I'm currently with Moose Mobile and just realised my SIM plan expires in 3 days! I need to port out my number to avoid the number being disconnected forever. Which cheap SIM can I buy in the shops (I don't have time to buy online). I just need to port it out of Moose, just to keep the phone number. I don't need to make phone calls or use data with it.

Aldi PAYG - $15 recharge, 365 days expiry.
Pick up a SIM from Aldi.
You don’t need to add the $15 as the original $5 sim from the store is good for 365 days

Maybe I'm thinking $15 is the minimum recharge.. I recharge for my parents each year (they come back to Australia once a year)

Another good point with the Aldi sim is that if you actually need to use the number now and then (eg if you've moved overseas and come back for visits), the bonus value packs that you top up with dont affect the expiry of the long term credit. I used to think you switch between plans, and risk ending up with a short expiry, but it's way more convenient than that.
AMAYSIM Pay as you go. I've had my personal number parked for about 2 years. costs nothing.
Depending on your future plans are with the number, Telstra $2 to port somewhere else or ALDI $5 for long term parking.
