A thread like this exists but I wanted to see a more recent one. Couldn't find a recent one so I deiced to make this. Guess I'll go first.
Age: 25
State: NSW
Job: Accounting
Salary: 65k inc Super
Monthly Expenses: $660/$1200 depending on how much of the bills i'm helping pay (live with my parents, we're renting, and we want to buy a house soon, not sure whether that's a good decision as I don't know much about the housing market)
Hecs: $43k Debt
Credit Card: $5k Debt
Savings: $5k
I just got the job, didn't have one for over 2 months and had to do what I could to get by, namely burning through my savings and using the credit card to try and fix my car. Spent a few thousand on it and another part on it went out when I got it back, left me stranded, so it's sitting in the driveway right now not working. One of the worst financial decision I think I've made thus far, not including my Hecs debt. I have a Bachelor but moved degrees before settling hence why it's so high.
What’s the point of this thread? You’re gonna get people who earn more than you, as well as people who earn less. If you’re interested in how others are doing, there’s always glassdoor to feel happy/sorry about your remuneration.
