Should Jasmine rice be considered a course?

    Flied Lice I could understand.

    • i heard that the handburger with flies is chefs special

Seems like an alright deal, but calling the bread and rice two entirely separate "courses" is a bit of a stretch!

Although this gives me an idea - If I buy some paddle pops, I can finally put together an amazing 3 course meal to impress the ladies! :P

these deals seem to be getting more and more expensive and being less and less value…

Too expensive for what is on offer. You can get an amazing meal at any Malaysian restaurant for $15 a head generally, sometimes less. You don't need to even spend $25 each. I see there is wine on offer but its going to be something very cheap.

Jasmin Rice is not a course.
Bread is also not a course.
Satays skewers should be considered a side.

I'm writing this with a Business Degree, Major in Hospitality.

Oh and for anyone reading this, duck mince isn't very fancy.

    -1 from me.

Going to have to disagree with you on this one.

Your logic is along the lines of "Well, I can go to China Bar and spend $9 so any Chinese food over $9 is a rip off."

You are not going to get 'amazing' malay food that offer 5 sides, drinks, roti, jasmine rice and a main for $15. At most cheap places, you will be looking at a minimum of $3-4 per side, $2-3 for a roti, $2 for jasmine rice, $10 for a main, and $x for a glass of wine (I dont drink alcohol, hence I cant give you an accurate figure on that one).

Considering you also haven't bothered to investigate whether or not their food is half decent, I think you are being entirely unfair.

for someone who is writing with a business degree majoring in hospitality, you should know better than to write trollop like the above.

Thanks for the feedback guys and we hope that some of our coming deals are more suited to you if this one isn't. Not going to engage in any kind of argument on semantics nor value, but obviously due to the multicultural nature of our country their are abundance of different restaurants offering different cuisines which we are very fortunate to have, and we have the utmost confidence in our Vendors products being top quality, and the prices we offer them at being top value.

If you have any other questions please contact me at [email protected]

    Have a great day guys!

  • the food is alright & that's a great rpice, but they ply it with MSG, so if you're allergic, I wouldn't go
(we asked for MSG free, but alas the missus's face still ballooned up).

Guerney Drive on Vic St (opp VicMarkets) is much better & cheap (although not as cheap as this deal!).

  • This is way too expensive for an ozbargain deal, try $15 instead.

  • Forgot to mention in the title that this deal expires at 11:30am tomorrow morning (when our next deal comes up). Thanks guys!
