Very good deal for a fun 4X game with lots of content where you can many hours playing.

From the website:

This galaxy is ancient, and its first intelligent life was the civilization we call the Endless. Long before our eyes gazed upon the stars they flew between them, though all that remains of this people is what we call Dust. The galaxy will belong to the faction that can take control of the Dust and uncover its secrets…

  • Found this url,
    https://steamcommunity.com/games/endless-space/announcements…

Takes you to page that shows endless Space is now permanently free.
Not sure if works because have a purchased copy already in my steam library.
If someone could try it and post back that would be appreciated.

    • Did you actually read the announcement?
Please do and then report back on whether you can find the catch. 🙄
Easy to find as it stands out.

      • My bad. Moderators please remove my comment. Thanks

      • Wait what's wrong with it?

        • Click the link and have a read. I am curious to see the "flaw" in the context of this post. ;-)

          • @Lysander: I had already read it lol, i'm still lost. In the comments section of the announcement, people say it still works so… ?

            • @cr4pm4n: It is NOT for Steam but a different service.
So, yes it works on that service and for someone like me who does not really care about Steam, features and just wants to play the game.
But the game is not free on Steam which is what the comment was. It is free on that other platform.

              • @Lysander: I'm not so sure… From what I've read in the comments, you go through the process on that site and in the end you get the game on your steam library for free.

                • @cr4pm4n: Well, I own the game already so cannot check. But as far as I know this is similar to how Gamesession works.
Plus, the announcement is from January and yet Steam sells the game. Steam would not point out where you can get their product for free.

If it was free and yet Steam sells it I think many people would be very upset. So I think it is free on the Games2Gether platform but it is definitely not free (as for example Dota 2) on Steam.

  • +1

I thought at first I would not enjoy the hands-off combat in this series but it actually became quite novel to sit back and watch the battle unfold and await the verdict. As a commander, you make the battleplan for your fleets and then are forced to watch and see.
