FFalcon 55UF1 55" 4K Ultra HD LED Smart TV $498 + Delivery (Free C&C) @ JB Hi-Fi

120

Just got this offer in an email. RRP is $598 (thanks Pace210). Also don't know what the quality is but at that price I would give one a go if I hadn't already recently replaced two old small tv's.

Probably a reasonably decent thing for those of us that want a big screen, are on a tight budget and can live without having the best of everything.

Delivery charge shown is for delivery to Canberra and may differ depending on location.

    FF is the clue here

  • $598 retail

    • Cheers, changed to show this.

  • I think it's some type of rebadged tcl. Not certain, though.

    • Yes it's a TCL same factory different name

TCL do outsource some of their TV production to other manufacturers though. Just hope they manage the quality control.
If you want to check out reviews, check out iFfalcon TVs sold by TCL in India, which I assume come from the same source. They generally get good reviews.
The Indian large screen versions get Android whereas the smaller ones get the same Linux OS as the Aussie large screen ones.
Apparently, the "TCL nScreen Pro" Android app works on Ffalcon TVs too for casting and remote control functions.

Have the 50" and honestly for the money it's pretty good value I got the 50 for 398 couple weeks ago.

The free to air channel up down is a pig though it lists the channel info but is way too slow but I watch normal tv through a pvr set top so that's so much better so not a problem.

Netflix is pre installed so that's a plus

The easiest way to find out if it works for you is have a look at it against other sets instore but you probably will struggle to find a 55 for the price.

    • How is it for gaming? Been trying to find reviews on this and there isn't much online. Is the input lag for gaming very noticeable?

Only 50hz, so not the best.

  • Seems JB has stopped selling Soniq TVs and now do FFalcon as there cheap TV brand.

    • Yes, that is correct. JB dropped Soniq earlier this year.

  • The office bought the 50" variant recently, and it was not connecting to the internet (says Wi-Fi connected, but can't watch netflix/youtube/browse) since day one. Tried resetting to factory, hard/soft restart etc and nothing. There weren't any troubleshoot for the problem either. And googling didn't help (maybe because it's not too common?)

So I would say it's a hit or miss with these TVs.

    • Which frequency have you tried connecting with? Is your router dual band and have you tried 2.54ghz rather than 5ghz? Some equipment will only operate on the lower frequency.

      • I am actually unsure what frequency the office Wi-Fi is set to. But it should be 2.4 I think. As a comparison, the Bauhn TV was able to connect to YouTube and all using the same Wi-Fi network. I'm thinking both should be similar in connectivity?

And if that is the case, then it kinda strengthens the fact that, for a 2019 TV, it's lacking in the network department. Its not really something people would necessarily know, both about what band the Wi-Fi they are using is as well how to change said band in case it does not work.

        • Agreed, 2019, it should have full connectivity. Anyhow it was just a thought that may have been the issue. Next thing I guess is to get in touch with JB, maybe there is a problem with your tv and it will come under warranty.
