Once they're available for about $250 I'd be able to justify one as my travel Switch…

    • Can't imagine it will be long tbh. Lite RRP is $329, where as the Switch standard is $469. Switch regularly sits at $399, and every second month drops as low as $350.

Good chance you'll be seeing similar price drops at point of sale. $250 seems very reasonable to expect in the next 6 months.

The Amazon deal was posted weeks ago - see Spackbace's comment.

This is obviously not going to be for everybody, but you can trade your Switch + a game and only have to pay $1 for a Lite.

Why would you wanna do that?

      • New for old, not using the dock?

        • Dunno just seems on eBay used switches goes for more than $300. Rather try that first and keep the game instead of trading in and losing the game.

The last one that went for under $300 had no dock. Dock is $100 without EB games sale which makes sense that it's worth less than $300.

For those with 2ds/3ds xl EB does have a deal to trade in + $200 + 1 game though so at least that another option that may work out better.

          • @zorrt: Agree but ebay has risks, fees too.

As a seller a quick simple changeover is infinitely nicer.

I know I'd take less cash locally than risk ebay these days…

            • @scuderiarmani: Suppose so, each to their own. eBay fees often can be waived or $1 if you wait for the offers they seem to have fairly often though. So just dodgy buyers you gotta worry about.

              • @zorrt: Haven't had offers in months… Given item not as described disputes can easily leave you with nothing… It's not worth the risk selling desirable items there now. Cash in hand is king, even if you have to deal with low balling idiots.

@scuderiarmani: It's this kind of attitude that is fundamentally incompatible with OzBargain culture and is the kind of pearl clutching anxiety and laziness that keeps bottom feeding businesses like EB in business.

              • @xyron: You mean trying to avoid getting scammed on ebay??? How's that against this site? Saving a buck doesn't mean it's better if there's notable risk attached.

                Ebay is a scammers paradise.

I and many others traded consoles this past week with their special promo… Why don't you mock them too?

                • @scuderiarmani: I've been an eBay user for over 10 years, have over 1000 feedback and I have been scammed only once (for which PayPal refunded me). Keep clutching those pearls.

                  • @xyron: Good for you. Obviously don't sell a lot, let alone anything desirable. Plenty have been.

I've been on much longer and have much more feedback over multiple accounts too.

Next time you wanna sell a laptop or mobile let me know…
