Enjoy it at that sheet price .
Might pick 1 up in a few months at $249.95 where it should be in relation to the old version .
Goodluck to everyone who buys this. Really gonna need it when the joycons start drifting and you realise you cant replace them as you could on the main console.
It's true.. I have 4 sets of joycons… they all have the same problem
It sucks that this is even necessary, but if you wanted to fix the issue, look into getting some WD-40 Fast Drying Contact Cleaner. That's the only thing that fixed it for me.
The issue can be addressed by the inclusion of a single piece of copper, no?
Therefore, I wouldn't put it past Nintendo to have applied the fix for the Switch Minis during production. In other words, I'm not counting on the Mini having the drift issue.
B-but wait! If they could & would fix it so easily, then why haven't they fixed regular joycons in a hardware revision?
Because it makes money, and isn't as detrimental to a customer's wallet as having to buy a whole new console. Customers are clearly willing to throw away ~$100 on new joycons when the issue arises. Would you expect the same to be said for the Mini, at $300? I personally think not.
Nintendo defense force never fails to amaze me.
Wrong. I'm trying to get people's expectations in-check, to avoid Nintendo being praised if they do happen to surprise us by fixing the issue.
As a bonus, I love that I point out their utterly pathetic tactic of "don't fix the Joycons, because being broken is making us money," and this counts as "defending" them.
If you think that I have any respect for Nintendo, go back and reread my post, lmao.
Your are and idiot LOL
@So Was Red: It's an idiot, idiot.
Wouldn't that be covered by warranty? Get a full replacement…
They might send it for repairs instead…
Not in Australia: https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees…
"You can ask for a replacement or refund if the problem with the product is major."
"A product or good has a major problem when:
- it has a problem that would have stopped someone from buying it if they’d known about it
- it is significantly different from the sample or description
- it is substantially unfit for its common purpose and can’t easily be fixed within a reasonable time
- it doesn’t do what you asked for and can’t easily be fixed within a reasonable time; or
- it is unsafe."
I'd argue that not being able to use the console makes it unfit for its purpose.
OG switch not going to have better deal with this lite version around
Yeah don't think we will see OG switch for $329 when this is $289. BTW, how did RRP USD199 = AUD329? Is AUD really that bad?
Everthing jack up when arrive to oz. But if include gst its pretty close
That's $285 , plus GST. So very minor Aus tax.
Because US RRP doesn’t include their sales taxes
Everyone forgets this.
Depending on the state, you can add up to 9.5% onto the list price when you get to the checkout.
So to compare accurately you need to look at the ex GST price when comparing.
Where's the Pokemon edition?!
This deal applies to all release day colours - not just grey.
Yep, yellow here: https://www.amazon.com.au/Nintendo-Switch-Lite-Yellow/dp/B07…
My bad, the Prime Day deals page only showed a link to the grey one. Looks like someone has added the other colours into the post now :)
Can I sign up for free Prime and then cancel? Will my order still go through?
Sure, you get the full month of trial even if you cancel straight away
I started losing hopes on Nintendo Switch @ $315 this year's Prime Day Sale.
Don't hold your breath mate.
I regret passing on the eBay deals last month now. This is like Amazon AU launch level disappointment all over again.
Maybe this years black Friday.
OG Switch looks like quality tech - Switch Lite looks like a cheap toy.
…because it has removable controllers?
The switch itself is NOT quality tech. Joycons are cheep feeling with garbage trigger buttons and built in ticking time bomb hardware faults that Nintendo doesn't acknowledge.
Where is the real switch prime day deal?..
I kinda hoped tbey'd release a mobile Switch with the die shrink that actually ran at docked speeds and with a 1080p OLED screen. So you'd get docked performance on the go. Alas, a 2DS of the Switch.
Got excited when I quickly read the title and price until I read "lite" which I thought the color is light grey
The RRP is $329.95 but great deal!
