I haven't been monitoring surge protector prices but $23 seems quite good… especially since you get a USB charging port
Those outlets look way too close together.
If you need some that are wider, this one here might suit you better and the usb output is 3.1AMP
https://www.bunnings.com.au/arlec-7-outlet-surge-protected-p…
Standard distance for Aussie AC plugs, even fit the Apple chargers. But if you have AC-DC power packs like some appliances/game consoles, then yes the Bunnnings one is perfect.
arlec is also a much better brand.
Does a much better brand guarantee a much better product?
A much better brand but with 175 Joules rating it might as well be a non surge protector powerboard.
I meant cheaper surge protector is around 600J and the better one >1K J. Cyberpower is >2K J.
Arlec has 175 Jules rating how is that going to be surge protection at all? Plus Cyberpower has equipment insurance in the event it failed.
The USB on Cyber Power however is not grounded.

I have surge protection at the socket.
Plus Cyberpower has equipment insurance in the event it failed.
Good luck with claiming. Mine's covered under house & contents.
The 3.1A output is just a combined rating. It's 2.1A for one port and 1A on another. The USB charging ports on powerboards and powerpoints are almost a moot point now given most phones use some sort of rapid charging feature that needs a dedicated wall plug.
Also, 2.1A on most phones will still take forever.
Also, 2.1A on most phones will still take forever.
On most phones, 2.1A is fine.
And 2.1A x 2 on the posted deal is better than the combined 3.1A on the one you posted
And 2.1A x 2 on the posted deal
Their brochure on the website says 2.1A is the MAX for the device, just like the Arlec says 3.1A is the MAX.
Anyway, I got it so I can fit all my plugs, the one posted here has them way too close together.
any similar to this but with individual on/off switch?
Jackson produce a 6-way model. North of $30 IIRC, we had a few in our office.
Available for $10 in Woolies now.

Dam. Opened the link this morning and only just replied
Can anyone suggest a reliable UPS for Arlo Pro 2 base station and router plz?
Anyone else have issues with these? My plugs never stay in properly, they feel loose and it always “sparks” because of it
What about max load? This should be able to handle 8 loads simultaneously right? Like nbn box, router, Chromecast, tv, soundbar, etc?
It's more when you start plugging in heating that you'd encounter issues
Ditto. I have noticed this as well.
I don't have eBay plus, so bought it for $28 delivered, here (Futu)… https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/331081740883

check out the store for more deals on other Thor products. I purchased 2 of these boards and couple other smaller ones. Recommended.
That's more than triple the price.
10x fold the quality.
Whenever I see power boards I think of Dicksmith 6 or 8 way surge catchers. Anyone else?
Time to let go
