[VIC] Three $5 Savoury Main Meal Options on Fridays during Spring @ Pancake Parlour

1150

Continuing on from their successful Winter Savoury Classics deal, Pancake Parlour are offering 3 Savoury Main Meal options for $5 from 9am to Midnight every Friday in Spring.

Expiry date is not advertised but if this is anything like the Winter promotion it should end November 29.

These meals are EXTREMELY overpriced on their menu normally, but for $5 for a filling sit down meal, you can’t go wrong.

Meal options are;

  1. MEDITERRANEAN CHEESE PANCAKE (usually $25.90)
Inspired by pizza. After developing our loved Cheese & Potato pancake, the journey to explore Mediterranean flavours became the next menu goal. Another vegetarian dish to showcase on our menu, a seasonal winner! This rich pancake combines feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and black olives. Served with a dollop of sour cream and a side of crisp salad. Vegan option available.

  2. TRADITIONAL BREAKFAST (usually $17.90)
Because all day breakfast is the way. Two fluffy buttermilk pancakes, rashers of bacon and eggs, fried or scrambled. There’s no contending with a classic! Topped with butter and maple syrup (poured as you please, of-course). This crowd favourite can be enjoyed both day and night off our menu. GFF option available.

  3. COTTAGE FRIES (usually $13.90)
Real fried hand-cut potato wedges. Served with sour cream, paprika and spring onions. Everyone knows that cottage fries are very much a meal, not a snack! Add cheese and bacon bits for an extra $4.5.

Terms and Conditions
* Valid 9am til 12am every Friday, from September 6th of September, for all customers.
* Other vouchers and offers, including all Lovely Rewards loyalty offers remain eligible for the promotion period.
* Options available during the promotion include the Mediterranean Cheese Pancake (main serving), Traditional Breakfast and Cottage Fries (main serving).
* All add ons come at an extra cost.
* Offer valid dine-in only, and not valid via UberEATS or Deliveroo.

    Seems like a bargain!

  • Thanks, I know what I'm going to have this Friday for dinner!~

  • +1

Have tried the potato and cheese before. Quite a nice pancake for $5, though the salad was a little plain.

"from September 6th of September", every time

    • Lol.

I love their sweet pancakes and paid too many visits during winter parlour promotion. But didn't like any of their breakfast menu items. But for $5, it's a bargain for sure.

    • I’m with you. We went with the Winter promotion when it covered all the sweet items. When we got there the temp was 9.4C so we paid for our pancakes as soon as they were delivered. By the time we left it was 10.4C so we saved $5 per dish. The best of the $5 was the tabriz, the current lot don’t look as interesting.

  • Thanks for the updated menu.

  • Anyone know why they offer this special on Friday, rather than on some earlier day in the week? I would have thought they'd find it harder to fill their restaurants on say Monday or Tuesday.

    • -2

      It's only between 9a-12p which isn't a busy time too I suppose.

      • +3

        9am - 12am.

        • +1

My bad. Thanks for that, now I can actually take advantage of this deal.

    • -1

Because they don't want to pay wages on staff on the less busy days where people don't want to go out. But they will spend it on their already busy days to pack the place.

      • Not sure why downvoted. Someone asked a question and this is literally the answer from the horse's mouth.

        • Most places are doing it tough with flat wages and high house prices …..more likely to get people indulging on Friday than some other days , for me it would be on way home from work and shop a bit in the city …..m-thur shops close early so it's straight home

    • We thought the same thing. The pancake parlour in Melbourne Central gets really busy on Fridays due to this promotion.

Maybe theres a higher chance of customers buying extra items given it's a weekend outing, (family, friends ect) so less likely to cheapskate???

Has anyone found the Malvern East service to be average? Most of the times, I simply request for a glass of water along with my order, and it never comes to the table.

    • It’s definitely my least favourite store to go to. Malvern East and Melbourne Central. All the others have wonderful service.

      • I have lowered my expectations now at this place. It's only 5 min. From my place which is the only reason I go here.

    • i founded the same at knox and fountain gate.
during my last visit, staff seem to herd all the diners into one section of the restaurant.

  • Thanks OP, note to avoid Melb Central area this Friday afternoon unless you want to ran over by protesters.

  • do you need the app to claim this deal or just walk in?

    • +2

Just walk in. It’s a ’Deal for everyone’.

  • The previous $5 Friday options were better in my opinion. Cheese & Potato pancake (original), Crepes Tabriz and Pancake Lasagne. These three are less tempting.

    • +4

Can’t go past the traditional breakfast though! I’d eat that any time of day… glad they restrict this to once a week for the benefit of my health :-)

      • i wonder if they do poached or egg Benedict.

        • Visited yesterday: fried and scrambled were the only options.

Looks like this isnt available in the Ballarat store :(

    • Maybe update the title to be just Melbourne, not VIC.

    • +1

The Pancake store in Ballarat, though similar in aesthetic is actually known as ‘The Pancake Kitchen’ not Pancake Parlour.

      • -1

I understand what you mean, but if you go to the locations for Pancake Parlour stores via their official webpage you will see 11 stores listed. 10 of them are in Melbourne, and 1 of them is in Ballarat. If your ads is suggesting this offer is available throughout Victoria, it would suggest that there are stores in Victoria…anyway, it wasn't clear for me, but may be for yourself and others.

  • Good value and took advantage of the previous deal a few times. Cheese & Potato was the winner however found it quite salty (Glen and Eastland stores).

  • It was very affordable and worthwhile offer. I enjoyed last month promotion.

  • What about 27-sept Friday public holiday?

    • Valid on public holidays too as long as the store is open!

  • Is it okay if I order the $5 meal deal and have tap water to drink? Would that be frowned apon ?

    • +1

Should not be, this is their promotion and free tap water is standard.
They work on numbers, knowing some will order basics, others will order coffee or dessert or sides to up the value per guest

    • I went many times over winter never ordering more than the special meals and didn’t get any worse service than other customers. YMMV depending on which store you go to but as mentioned already, they expect some will order only the promotion, but others order extras.

  • Is it one $5 meal per person?

    • +1

No. Order as much as you want.

  • +1

Thanks op, we went to the northland store for dinner tonight and ordered ourselves the Mediterranean cheese pancake. We were quite pleased with it. Will surely be back before the offer closes. Apparently offer end date is 29 nov.

  • +1

Ordered Traditional Breakfast and the Mediterranean Cheese Pancake. They're even better value than expected 👍🏼👍🏼 Genuinely decent serves, and they certainly heaped the bacon.

  • +1

Definitely do not get the wedges (3rd option). Feels like the potato's have been seasoned and cooked after being soaked in water (or just not cooked to get a crisp texture.

  • Just in case anyone is interested this offer is valid on the public holiday, Friday 27th September 2019, although there will be a 10% public holiday surcharge.

  • Got charged $2.99 for public holiday more than 10%

    • My experience exactly, because they add 10% to the original price, before applying whatever discount to get it to $5 normally.
