So as the headline says … BP will be dropping the ability for you to earn Virgin Velocity points at their fuel stations from next year, today announcing they will be switching to Qantas points from next year.

how much do you value your velocity points?
did that value outweigh the additional cost of fuel?
Sorry, I'll rephrase - I only went when the price of fuel was the same (in general, they are a few cents more expensive) AND they had a Velocity bonus point offer. When Velocity goes, I don't see myself going to BP at all.
In short, the only reason I rarely went was because of the extra bonus points
No biggy
Realised the points dividend was only worth it on bonus points offers.
When they are 4c a litre more expensive than the place down the road, it doesn't really make sense.
BP is well priced in my area, so that's a shame.
Same. BP is almost always cheapest in my area.
The only time i use is when Amex offer available.
The article did state that their will be a BP rewards program offering customized deals to people. So you will still have a chance to do the one off at BP if the price is right to earn some decent points (or at least sounds like it). Just they will be QFF instead of VFF….. I wanted to fly SQ in J again :(
Oh well. I hate BP (OTR generally in SA) and unless they were competitive, I avoid them like the plague. Hopefully, Velocity can do a deal with Caltex or some such.
BP around me has 95 pulp for 8c litre over regular, which is about 6c less than the others charge for 95, so they always get my business anyway
BP is never as cheap as using the 7-11 app ;)
I'm a dedicated Velocity member and Virgin flyer, but I can't remember the last time I bought any BP fuel as the point vs cost don't add up.No 7-11 near me in my poor regional area ;(
Before the App, Caltex was always cheapest for my area. But if you're regional you're pretty much at their mercy :(
I have 200k+ QFF and 200k+ Velocity.
Not sure which program to go towards …
Velocity/krisflyer
Guess no more BP for me.. always found them higher priced (much like Shell) and the only reason I ever went was when the pricing was the comparable and they had bonus points. Really wish Costco still accepted Amex!
