Active Members: Get Discounted Audible Subscription for $8/Month for 3 Months (Normally $16.45/mth) and/or 1 Free Credit

220

This might be useful for those who signed up for dealbots 3 months of free Audible deal (as well as existing users): https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/467496

My 3 months free membership were up this month so I decided to cancel my membership before I had to pay. When I went to cancel I selected reason as “too expensive” and next screen gave me the option of next 3 months at only $8 p/m instead of usual $16.45 which I accepted. Then I decided I’ll cancel again for same reason and it had an option for an extra credit instantly for free which I took. You may be able to just get the extra credit straight away in first cancellation.

Either way once you’ve redeemed credit you can cancel straight away and pay no extra

This is a customer retention offer that has no known expiry date — marked as long running deal.

This is pretty much an always on deal, you should be able to do it again in a few months as well.

Yeah I figured that but sort of thing I’d like to know about and thought others would too.

    • Not able to do it more than the one time anymore. My discounted membership was coming to an end and I went to cancel again and they just let me cancel without another discount offer :(

Thanks for taking the time to explain it so well. 💐

Thanks heaps, will keep that in mind when my 3 month free expires.

Ive now got over 40 books and podcasts in my collection and I have spent $19 , (3 months Free then 2 x $8 as per OP + 1 credit, then rejoin for $1 and this time rejoin for $2) You keep all your books and freebies when you cancel. You can also return a book for a replacement credit if you dont like it even if you have listened to it all.
Point of note, if you accept the $8 p/mth, it will give you one credit and charge you immediately irrespective of how long you have left on your subscription

Thanks for that sounds like you’ve got value in true OB style. My only comment is I have accepted the $8 p/m but my first charge date is 1/10. I’ve not been charged yet.

      • They may have changed it since i tried, Hope so. Have you used the extra credit yet?. If it hasnt charged you, then I can cancel My $2 rejoin because it offers me the $8 again, maybe another freebie,

    • Whats the rejoin? Cancel and get offered discounted fee?

  • Awesome worked for me. Thanks op!

  • If you end your subscription and then rejoin, with a gap between subscriptions, can you continue to exchange the books from your first subscription?

If so, you could amass a library. Quit . Listen rejoin and swap all of your old books. For example, greygum has forty books. It could ell take them four months or more to listen to them all. They could conceivably rejoin for a month, swap all 40 and get one new one. A net of 41 new books.

    • Yes, you can return books from the the first subscription - however, I think there is a 12 month time limit to return books.

There is likely a limit to how many books you can return at once - each return is processed separately. I think it just needs to be kept reasonable.

  • Does anyone know if you buy one of their discounted books and return it, do you get just a normal credit?

    • I know this was posted a while ago but I thought I'd respond in case anyone else stumbles across this question. If you purchase a discounted book (or any book) using actual money, returning it refunds the money. It does not give you a credit. Man, if it did, I would have so many more books than I currently do. ^_^

      • If you receive a book you already have as a gift (from another audible account) - it used to give you a credit. Not sure if this still applies since they reintroduced book gifting.

  • Great, thank you 👍🏻

  • Good tips thanks!

  • Do you have their email address? I am trying to cancel my membership and get a refund but nothing is working so far. Can't get hold of their agent.

    • 1800 736 910 is their australian phone number if that helps

      • Thank you, just managed to get my money refunded. Such a pain they don't have email support.
