That was my first thought too. I think yes. Unfortunately Hallet Cove has never been a busy store, so I suspect it might close. Which is terrible for the staff, and I just feel really badly for staff that might lose their jobs. Every time I’ve been there all the staff have been really lovely, so if it does I just hope that they can be re-located.
Maybe Big W need to do something like Kaufland, or Walmart? Combine Woolworths and Coles into some super W’s or something? Kaufland is like a combo of a Kmart and a Coles, I think, and have a large selection of consistent ranged stock, versus Costco that have a varying range of gear.
If folks are shopping at Kmart and Coles, or mainly Woolworths you’d think that there’d be a chance that they’d be drawn to the department stuff whilst shopping at the supermarket bit.
Hmm wonder if it is one of the stores in the firing line for closing?
