Didn't get this, only some QE Food offer which seems to be a Sydney inner-west grocery store …

Wasn’t in my offers but TA’s manual link worked for me

    • Just got this on my cards now. I wonder why the delay.

The Amex offers in the first half of this year we're really bad. But in the last couple of months I can only describe them as sad and pathetic. Along with reducing the value of their points in April is there any reason to have an Amex now? They're doing themselves out of business.

Vogue American Express Fashion Night Out and Shop Small, amongst others. I find I get value out of the Statement Credits; recent ones I used apart from the aforementioned include Clinique and the Transport for NSW ones.

I don't pay for mine though (DJs Amex and Velocity Escape Amex)

      • How do you get DJ Amex for no annual fee?

        • +3

Working for them is the usual answer as someone who used to work for them, but in my case, I had a Storecard (and I bought tons from DJs on it) and they sent a letter four years ago, saying that if I upgraded my Storecard to the DJs Amex, they’d waive the annual fee for every year I hold the card, so I upgraded.

          • @kerfuffle: Store card? Why didn't you share this hack

            • @capslock janitor: It was targeted i.e. they sent a snail mail letter about the upgrade

              • @kerfuffle: Oh OK what's Stirecard?

                • +1

@capslock janitor: A credit card you could only use in David Jones. It was free and is now no longer available to sign up for.

My friend who tried to get their DJs Amex annual fee waived after they left DJs said that Amex wouldn't waive it, and when I tell DJs staff about my free Amex, they're very shocked/impressed, so I guess not many people got the offer? (I did spend a shitload in there; rip my staff discount)

    • Shop Small coming Nov my friend

The sony BP and Chemist warehouse deals were great, all with no annual fee, something for nothing very rare

If like me, you’re wondering what a Klook is,
    No they don’t sell timepieces.

They sell discounted admission tickets, transport (trains/buses) SIM cards, etc for OS travel. Looks like Asia & Europe.

  • Planning on heading back to Bangkok… used Klook for train cards, sims and health lands massage coupons….

    • massage

      You sly devil you… ;)

    • Heading to Phuket in March, which sim do you recommend?

  • Does payment to Klook treated as international transaction?

    • Also keen to know

    • App yes, desktop no (on the one time I’ve paid via PayPal

      • +1

I don’t think you will get the AMEX cashback if you are paying via PayPal.

        • Yes correct, sorry I meant I’ve only used Klook once using PayPal and it didn’t charge me any int transaction fees.

Also to note that the T&Cs state only valid for purchases made in AUD anyway so best way to go would be using desktop.

    • Apparently yes, my ccard got charged for international fee transaction after purchasing.

    • +2

Amex doesn’t charge international fees for transactions in Aud even from an overseas company. There are fees on for foreign curencies though.

  • Can’t see it on my account (Qantas ultimate)

Klook is good for HK Airport Express (when the HK Airport Express was running :P )

  • Don't forget to use cash back. Might just offset the fx commissions.

    • I’m hoping TA has a nice increase coming sometime soon 😬

They sell JR pass. Could be useful if you need one.
    https://www.klook.com/activity/1420-7-day-whole-japan-rail-p…

  • Also worth noting that Cashrewards seem to have a promo code for $8 off $120 spend with CRKLKANZ

    • Keeps telling me the promo code is not applicable to this activity (14 day JR Pass)

      • Unfortunately:

Excludes JR Pass, Universal Studio Japan & Singapore and Disneyland HK & Tokyo products.

  • I purchased one deal through Cashreward, and it went ok, and my spouse purchased through Shopback and she used mobile app and Apple pay, then the charges appeared as "KLOOK TECHNOLOGY CENTRAL" and payment was processed via a third party payment processor STRIPE, and the charges were in USD (This was beyond our control). And as per the AMEX offer the STRIPE / PayPal etc payment are not qualified

  • Hi Guys

Anyone know if we can stack up with the current shopback offer?

As the T&C shows " Excludes transactions made through a third party establishment or payment processor."

    Thanks

    • I just purchased normally after activating the cash back with the plugin and even managed to stack with code SBKLKANZ ($8 off $120+ spend). Shopback notification came through within 10-15 min and Amex notification within 1 min
