thinking of getting one, but curious what others think of this tablet before taking the plunge
but curious what others think of this tablet before taking the plunge
belongs in forums then because technically its not a 'bargain'
well, thought $89.95 was a bargain for a tablet.
not, newbie here, just got this in my mailbox
Wow. A Via VT 8505, I thought they stopped using them in Windows CE devices 3 years ago.
This thing would struggle to load the phone app, let alone any game or applications. Please, please don't waste your money and instead get an Optus MyTab (for less) or even a Telstra Tab.
Android 1.6 Operating System
……..
optus mytab is sold out everywhere
but more stock might be coming (i got mines yesterday from a method in the forum which has been closed down)
telstra ones might still have stock in some places
any other place to find this "method"? looks like i'm the only one who missed the mytab!
what method is it? Any link to that post in forum pls?
There was a link to place orders online.
I ordered one last Tuesday. There were some issues with processing my order and they called (Or i called them, cant remember) and they fixed the order up…. Said they'd ship it nxt day… Nxt day I get an email and phone call saying delivery is delayed by 2-3 week due to no stock and I received it yesterday!!!!!
Available for $149 on Optus Business (YOu need to have an ABN)
http://www.optusbusiness.com.au/mobile-broadband/optus_zte_m…
And you have to pay extra a pre-paid voice/date pack… You might be able to negotiate the price…
They probably have separate stock for Business / Personal users…
Worth a try
thanks for the explanation,
looks ill have to wait for the restock:)
thanks for the heads-up
Please read our rules about posting. Keep it brief and to the point. The details can be found on the deal website.
My bad, Pete. Will do next time
Who has stock of mytab?
VIA VT 8505 CPU, Up to 400Mhz!? Android 1.6!? Blergh, I'll pass! :-)
"Battery Life: Up to 3 hours"
What a joke.
This kind of low-end tablets are usually sold in taobao for around 300 RMB, which roughly equals to AU$45.
See http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=5996986259
if updated to 2.1 or 2.2 is the new version going to o'rite all the working ram like the Millenium?
i wouldn't bother with this tablet at this price. should be half the price.
unless you only want it as an ereader or play music but even then the battery life is abmissal.
get an optus Mytab
I would go for something like this for $122 (including shipping)which is $20 more thatn the one you have posted but considerably better-
http://www.ahappydeal.com/products/product_32822.htm

or this refurbished 10" version for $122-ish (including shipping)

For that money you get the ZT-180 V2 with 512MB mem and 4GB storage
yawns and gets back to his mytab*
Not a deal, There are higher spec Android Tablets running Android 2.2 on ebay for about $80 inc shipping, that would be a better option if <$100 was your price point. Of course there is always better options if you want to spend more money.
If the op isn't new here, he should have picked up a mytab like everyone else. This isn't a deal.
Keep calling around Dick Smith store for the optus mytab as they keep getting deliveries. Got another one last week at DSE Auburn power centre (in front of costco).
Android 1.6 Operating System not woth it
Not worth the price, compared to a mytab…
Mytab also comes with 3gb of prepaid data valid for 3 months!
no bargain
This tablet is junk, woefully slow and running the oldest version of Android, most of the SW on Appbrain now requires Android 2.x. This is NOT a bargain.
Hey melby,
Are you rep for OO?
