Ubisoft's Gamescom Sale has been extended until September 3rd.
All Anno 1800 versions (Standard/Deluxe/Gold) are 33% off during the sale.

Important Info: You can swap 100 Ubisoft Club Units for a voucher that gives 20% off your next purchase.
so 33% off + 20% off coupon = Prices as indicated in Paranthesis

To earn 100 Ubisoft Club Points:

  1. register for a Club Account at https://club.ubisoft.com/en-US/
  2. download Uplay, which you'll need to play Anno 1800 anyway
  3. Download Rainbow Six Siege (Free to play this week from 28th August to 4th September)
  4. Play Rainbow Six Siege and complete the Club Challenges (you can earn up to 140 Club Points)
  5. Exchange 100 Club Units for a "20% off your next purchase" coupon.
  6. Use this coupon during checkout when purchasing Anno 1800.

Disclaimer, If you already had Uplay and have already spent the points you obtained from completing the Rainbow Six Siege challenges, you will of course have to earn 100 club points either playing other games you already own, or buying other games from the Ubisoft Store (there are plenty of cheap goodies like Heroes of Might and Magic 3 and 5) and doing the challenges associated with those games.

To track the progress of your Club Challenges, click on a game you own in Uplay, and select Club Challenges in the left column. Then select the "Classic" tab at the top to see what you need to do to earn Club Units.

  • Any idea when this game will get on Steam?

It got taken off at launch I believe

I'm not sure if this one will ever surface on our beloved Steam. Steam is increasingly getting owned on high profile titles by Epic, unfortunately.

People assert that Epic is competition, but exclusives by definition monopolistic and thus anti-consumer. Competition means being able to choose who you purchase a good or service off.

    • It was on Steam and then removed. Its now made an Ubisoft exclusive.

  • So tempted but gotta stay strong.

But this game is one of the closest things to real time management nirvana for a long time.

The gameplay videos look so good kind of gives a glimpse at what future RTS games could be.

I am gonna wait for it to get much cheaper though no rush as new content still coming out for this.

    • I am in the same boat (pun intended), it does not surprise me at all that this is the best selling Anno in the franchise to date, Anno 1404 was the best until this came out as the futuristic and space-faring iterations lost their charm on me. This just looks like more Anno 1404 which is only a good thing for the fans.

I know if I wait it will come in some bundle with everything for pennies but is it worth not having fun now with it and being patient?

I will cave if they release updates around warfare as that was the only part of the game and Anno series that I felt was lackluster, although completely understandable as it was an economic and trade game before anything else.

Totally worth it to play a bit of Rainbow Six Siege in order to get this for $22 cheaper than on the Epic Games Store (prices there are in US dollars, and they're also having a 33% off sale)
And if peer pressure isn't enough on its own..

    From TechRaptor.net (gaming news website):

"Anno 1800 sales have been the fastest in the franchise’s history. A press release from Ubisoft reveals that the game has sold four times more copies than its predecessor Anno 2205 in the first week of their respective launches"

The Deluxe version is the best value :P

    • Is there a breakdown somewhere of the differences between the different versions as I can't seem to find them?

      • yeah, if you click on any of the anno games in the ubisoft store, just below the cover art there's a roughly 1cm thick blue line that goes across the screen horizontally.. click on the word "summary" inside that.

        • Thanks that actually helps a lot.

So does the coupon work on the gold edition which is roughly $100 or $30 more than the deluxe edition?

The gold edition has the season pass which includes 3 dlc's coming later this year separate to the already out anarchist dlc that comes with the deluxe edition and above.

          • @AlienC: If you redeem 100 Club Units to get the 20% discount code, you can apply the voucher to everything in your cart, and the 20% is off the total of the already discounted prices.
You'll also earn some Club Units back for making the purchase.

    • How long does it take in RSS to get 100 club units? I had a quick look at the club challenges and would need most of the classic ones.

      • That answer really depends on your competency.

You need to be a fairly skilled FPS gamer for some of the achievements. You can't just load into a lobby and expect to knife 10 people in a match if you have never played the game. More than likely you will spend a couple of games getting wrecked and wondering how the other team scored a headshot on you through that tiny hole in the wall.

  • Keep in mind that this game will be free to play for 4 weeks on Ubisoft starting on September 3 (Uplay+ free trial).

  • Just a tip,
If you're having trouble finding teams to do Terrorist Hunt, there's a way you can switch from playing on South-East Asian servers to American servers.

    https://support.ubi.com/en-us/Faqs/000024723/Rainbow-Six-Sie…

I switched to playing on American West (wus) and now i have no trouble getting teams for the terrorist hunt challenge.
