Excellent printer, can vouch for it. Never had any issues. Been using it for the last 2 years or so.

  • How does this compare to the Anycubic Mega-S? Missed the last deal on the Mega but it seems to get a lot of love (including the good base plate).

    • I can't comment about the CR-10s but I received my Mega-S last Friday and is my first 3D printer.

Spent about a day fine tuning my profiles, learning about what the different settings do and have got it down pretty good.

Super easy to set up, particularly once you have flashed the new firmware and use mesh levelling.

The Ender 3, Ender 5 and CR-10 are all very popular though

    • Bigger Printing area 300x300x400 compared to anycubic 210x210x205

  • I note they are an "Authoriazed" Dealer. Not sure if that is a good thing or not?

  • Ender 3 or Ender 5 are good for beginners.
    Prusa is quite good too.

  • My wife asked me to look into a laser engraver - I'm assuming a 3D printer won't do the job? Or can one be converted into an engraver (and back) with a simple mod?

I was looking up this exact thing today (via youtube videos). Yes you can place a laser unit in a 3d printer and engrave things. A weaker laser would only be useful for engraving/burning off a layer of paint. Stronger lasers can even be used to cut cardboard and very thin balsa, and 4mm acrylic sheets.
