    $1,416 total for $700 phone + $29.83/month for 30GB

  • Yes. The plan cost is around $30 month to month. So why tie for 24month.

    • the sim only plans are much worse now. the 30GB per month plan is like $49. sucks to have to recontract right now.

      • Wait for a month. it will bring back 80gb or 50gb 12m if you prefer.

And if you already have 1 service you can get 10% off on second service even if you recontract. Doesn't have to be new only.

Is it a better choice to buy these phones outright and pick up a boost mobile prepaid?

    • +3

Financially that a better choice. S10e for 680 on eBay sales plus 140 boost for 1 year. Save yourself more than 600 dollar per year

      • +2

        About $450 saving over 2 years ($225 per year), not $600 per year. $1416 over 2 years. Your strat - 680 phone + 1yr boost 140 + 2nd year boost 140 = 960. 1416 - 960 = 456

You also have to take into account the s10e's on ebay could be grey stock so warranty is very hit and miss (usually miss).

      • The boost only has 80gb… Don't think that's enough date for a year.

        • You can recharge earlier than a year

    • If you're happy with a slightly used one you'll get it super cheap on ebay right now too.

is it just me or have their SIM-only plans gone up in price too? $39 for 10GB is the cheapest one now.

    • Seems like it. I thought they'd be hitting it hard after reading how many have ported over to the Boost 365 / 80gb plan. I know I did.

I got the iPhone 8 from Optus on a $49 plan over 24 months in Dec 2017. Not too convinced an iPhone 7 almost two year later is much of a deal.

    • +1

I got my mate 10 pro at that time. 59 for iPhone 7 is not a bargain.

      • I think all such plans are rip off. I ported to amaysim from vodafone after 8 years. $8 for 4 months, 5gb/month. Planning to move to Boost $150 plan and buy a phone in range of $600, may be Xiaomi

  • Maybe… but iPhone 7 only offered in 32GB (according to the website anyway) which is a deal killer for me.

I wonder how people can justify the same price for an iPhone 7 which came out in September 2016 vs something like a Samsung S10e which came out this year with far better specs.. Is that really the cost of the Apple Ecosystem?

  • Looks like no more data free Netflix/Stan streaming

  • Tried to get the chat rep to do it online they refused went instore they did it note it comes with optus sports which is the only reason im with optus

Not a bad deal because im currently on the 39 a month sim only which is a bit of a rip off…

    • Did they mention if more data was available for extra?

      • I didnt ask

      • If you go over the 30GB its automatically $10/Gb which is pricey. The other option is to add a monthly data plan/table plan to your account and they will data share. But really if you need more then 30GB this plan is not suited for you.

  • Identical deal $59 per month (30GB) X 24 months with Optus on Samsung S10e @ Harvey Norman in store.

  • Is this deal at any optus store? And would the deal be visible on display or would you have to ask the staff specifically for it?

  • Any luck with port in discounts?

  • Can confirm they offer this via online sales rep but no port in discount with first person I tried

  • Have tried with multiple online sales consultants, no port in credit offered
