Suggestion for Low End Video Card

Hi all, I have a low-end gaming machine, playing fairly low-demand games - currently playing They Are Billions (great game!). Using a repurposed mining rig - celeron, sad + r9 270.

Perfectly fine except just recently the r9 270 died and I'm now looking for a replacement.

Im looking for an equivalent performance video card as cheap as possible - looking for new since I'm not sure the savings from second hand would be worth it at this price range - happy to spend to around $180.

Note: only have one molex connector for the graphics card (as opposed to two found on more powerful cards).

Can anyone suggest a card?

    GTX 1050ti
    RX570
    RX580

    Any of those can be had for 180 and less.

    if you must go new there's only the RX560 which performs roughly similar to your R9 270
    don't even bother looking at NVIDIA at this price range (the GT1030 is awful value in comparison)

    I, however, still want you to consider second hand as you will be able to get an RX570 or GTX 1050ti within your budget and with it, a significant performance boost over your R9 270

    Thanks guys, went with the GTX 1050 ti from computer alliance - worked out to be $170

      Good choice.

      They Are Billions is fantastic. About to get back into it myself with all the new content they've released in previous months.

        I only just got it a couple of weeks back after seeing a YouTube video. It's such a great and challenging game!(have to play at 50% difficulty for now…)

    This has inspired me to upgrade. Now I just need to track down a decent priced RX570 or RX580 to upgrade my old GPU :P - Seems they are on the rise in price on ebay lately.
