    Bunnings has it @ $269 pickup, I believe. https://www.bunnings.com.au/dewalt-18v-xr-brushless-line-tri…

    • nice find, will add to header

  • Can we go to to Sydney tools and ask for price beat and then once they do go to Bunnings and keep going back and forth until it's free?

    • They beat advertised price, not the price beat!

18v vs 54v versions of Dewalt tools, obviously more power with the latter, but does that necessarily make it better and worth the added cost? Opinions needed please.

    • +1

I have this model and it's more than adequate for the average edge trimming of home. No need for 54v on a whipper-snipper unless you are trimming more than grass edges (i.e brush cutting/slashing vast areas of knee high weeds). Feel free to ask me anything you want to know about this unit.

PS: I have both the 18v blower and the 54v blower and that is one area where I am pleased to have the extra power. (18v still very useful due to light weight when I am on the roof blowing gutters etc.)

      • How does it go with edging lawn? Looking to get one to do edging

        • +1

Good enough, but if you had a vast area and are particular about your edges, get and edger instead! I edge my front yard fine but it's not massive (20m²). The guard arc is also pretty small so be aware of that.

The unit is light enough and well balanced, you can adjust the handle position to get it right and you can turn it/tip it at whatever angle and not have to worry about the petrol dripping out!

          • @Qbagger: Thanks man. Any recommendations for a edger I have curved pathways which might make it difficult

  • In response to this deal?
Wondering if people can compare the two? DeWalt was much more to start with.
Ryobi have huge ecosystem of compatible tools and 6 year warranty on tool (not battery) with registration

  • For those who have this unit already, can you please comment on the weight and balance? I have a bench shaft generic 2 stroke at the moment and I don’t like the balance on it .

    • The only thing you can adjust is the handle position. Best for you to go in store to Bunnings, they have a display model at my local store. I'm sure they'll let you wack a 5aH battery in to see. I use mine with a variety of different batteries (including the massive 9aH flexvolt) and I find the balance fine. I have adjusted the handle position to suit my height though.

  • Total tools says pre order and my local wa Bunnings all showing no stock?

    • most are pre order its a promo, in stock from 23rd aug

  • Bunnings have upped their price to $279 and still not showing stock

  • Got this today, love it so far
