Be careful: There have been a lot of reports of Lootcrate being very slow (as in months) in their shipping:

    https://au.trustpilot.com/review/lootcrate.com

    • Delivered every 3 months, Now thats a new record for slow !

    • Damn, that is actually very interesting. I used to get loot crate a lot 2 years ago. Seeing these reviews now, makes it a little scary to resubscribe. Thanks for that!

Does this discount apply to only one "loot crate" or is it an ongoing discount for the life of subscription?

    • I've always lost interest in the site when I visit. Eg, clicking on the post link takes you to the 50% off loots that are in offer. So you click on the "buy now" button and end up with plan options for subscriptions which are up to twice the price of the option you chose, with no sign of the crate that was listed. Seems like a lot of messing around to buy pop culture items when alternatively you could specific items that you want from other sites with less confusion.

It just feels like the customer has work to spend money there, thus I've never spent money at the website.

    • From what I can tell, you can order one loot crate and it will come to you. But you can also go for 3 or 6 month subscriptions. All of these would be applicable with the 50% discount.

    • From my experience once the discount is applied to a subscription, it will stay discounted until you cancel it. I would avoid though, I still haven't received crates from April and May due to production delays.

  • Are the prices in USD on the front page? Looked at the Hello Kitty one - listed at $39.99, less 50%, so $19.99. Go to the actual page and it's $66AUD + shipping. Assuming code will bring it down to $33 but I've lost interest now

    • I got the same and gave up ha.

  • Jeez, head says no, heart says yes to this month's anime crate with Evangelion in it.
Guess that's why credit cards have insurance.

    • Expect it to take more than 3 months to arrive.

  • I thought it was crates as in MILK Crates as I am looking for some DeWalt Tough crates.

    Oh well.

  • They just got acquired. Apparently the boxes will still be shipped though..

  • Hope no one got this as they've just filled for bankruptcy. They're swimming in debt and this looks like a minute cash grab to pay off some debtors with no intention of fulfilling it. Pretty sure they are insolvent trading now.

"The company, which has had its share of problems in the last year, has filed for bankruptcy protection to deal with millions of dollars in debt. Loot Crate started in 2012 as a “comic con in a box.” By 2014 they had over 100,000 subscribers, and in 2016 they were listed as one of the fastest-growing private companies. Several versions of the crates at various price points have been introduced over the years – recently they created an exclusive line of crates for WalMart.

Bankruptcy has been coming for a while. The company defaulted on a multi-million dollar loan in 2017; they were able to re-finance it with yet another loan from another investment firm. They were bailed out of that loan by yet another investment firm that also invested another $10 million into the floundering company. The delivery issues have been talked about on the net for over a year. Frustrated fans mentioned late deliveries, repeat products, and boring exclusives. Loot Crate Inc currently owes $20 million to its subscribers for undelivered crates, which it’s promising it will still deliver. That’s going to be a difficult line to stick to given the layoffs that are already underway and the fact that they closed their L.A. warehouse. They also have a long list of lenders (including $21 million to Midtown Madison Management) to repay and around $30 million in debt to t-shirt companies, licensing entities (Marvel to the tune of $469,000), service companies (Facebook is owed $1.04 million), and other unsecured creditors. It’s also behind on more than $5.87 million in sales taxes. You can see the full list in the document filed with the IRS. In a press release co-owner Christopher Davis stated that “daily operations will continue as usual, unique and exciting fan items will be purchased, crates will be shipped, and all aspects of the business will go on as before the Chapter 11 filing. Our employees will continue to be paid as usual during this transaction.” I’m not seeing that happening unless they find new investors or a buyer very soon."
