[XB360/XB1] Ducktales Remastered - $3.73 @ Microsoft Store

450

Tomorrow Capcom is delisting DuckTales Remastered from all digital stores, presumably due to a licensed expiration. As such, the game is receiving discounts across several of the platforms it has released on.

The Xbox 360 version (linked) is the only version playable on a current gen console (backwards compatibility program) and will hopefully be forward compatible with Xbox Scarlett if the BC program carries forward with all games that have been made available this generation.

Hopefully they manage to renew it, would be great on Switch

Was hoping it would be on switch, would be perfect for it.

  • Do delisted games remain on the account and still be downloaded after tomorrow?

    • Honestly not entirely sure. Should be the case though.

I'm pretty sure I own a delisted Xbox 360 game and it's still showing in my "ready to install" queue but will need to double check to confirm.

    • +3

I have had several games attached to my account that were delisted but are still downloadable. Similar thing happens on some steam games, removed for sale from the store, but if purchased before that, still downloadable/playable.

    Duck Tales! Woo'oo!

Reviews? Is it actually good or just nostalgia-coloured-glasses?

    • From memory the reviews are good.

I never played the original, but remember having some fun with this on Wii U years ago

      • +1

Aha! I did not know it was on Wii U, the easiest "current gen" console to pirate for, the game will still be easily accessible for years to come then! Hoorah!

        • It's under $4 though…

@Faro: Oh I know, I know, and you have no excuse not to buy it now. I'm saying 5/10 years down the road when you can't and haven't been able to for a while. At least on Wii U, downloading long since delisted games is a box of piss, not so much on PS4/Xbone.

    • I've never played the original but really enjoyed it on PC (with a controller) and I'm not that into 2D platformers.

  • same applies for PC versions.. it's on Steam for about the same price.. at least on PC it'll run on every foreseeable version.

edit: not having a poke at console users about BC.

    • All for preserving the games on whatever platform people choose

If you’re wanting to use your Xbox credit without attaching another payment method, buying it on the Xbox 360 console is the only way.

    • Good tip and I only found out about this recently. It's silly that you have to resort to such measures. It's not like the Xbox One marketplace and backward compatible games is a new thing!

    • I hate that. I picked up a few of the OG BC games the other day with Xbox credit, solely to play on the Xbox One, but I had to go dig up the old 360 to buy them. (profanity) dumb.

  • Grabbed it earlier today.

People still regard IGN reviews as credible?

      • +1

I was only interested in seeing gameplay footage. Thought might help others

  • Thanks heaps!

Any other games for PS or Xbox that are getting delisted?

Sees sale price and considers buying again, despite having the PS3 version
Me: Nah, (profanity) it, there's a good chance it will come to Gold and I'll live to regret it, I'll wait.

    continues reading
Me: Oh (profanity), it's gonna be delisted. Well, better pick it up I guess.

Thanks for the heads up on the delisting more than anything, OP. Decently sure this sucker never got a physical release too, gonna be lost to the ages soon enough, shame.

    • It got a physical on PS3 and Wii U (maybe 360?), But seemingly only in Europe

      • Oh sick.

I mean, if it was limited it will still be quite a decent price down the road, but that is good. I understand digital only releases, but I'm not gonna pretend to like them.

  • Can I just buy this and not actually install it tonight?

    • Yep, correct.

If I recall correctly, it’s around 1GB in size however.

      • Literally listed on the page:

        Full Game - DuckTales: Remastered
        4 out of 5 stars from 135 reviews135
        RELEASE DATE: 11/09/2013
        SIZE: 651.01 MB

        • I know that I can normally, I just meant that if it got delisted at midnight do existing purchasers get locked out?

        • I downloaded it last night and it was around 1GB.
Perhaps it was 651.01MB before updates?

  • Also $6.43 on Wii U eShop for all the OzB-ers who picked up the EBGames eBay deal last month…

  • just bought, played, I like Duck Tales and not bad, but it pretty poor game, like a 0.99c mobile game

    • It's made by WayForward who make the critically acclaimed Shantae games as well as the critically acclaimed Mighty Switch Force titles.

This was an NES game remastered too. But because you've straight up said it's bad, I'm curious to why you think so after playing it for probably the time taken to beat one level?

  • No longer available?

    • Yep. Delisted now

      • Trial seems to be still on there xD
