80

Have been looking at this product line in general on and off. Seems like a good price!

Seems to retail for $599. Next cheapest I can find (for now) is $429 at minidisc.

    RS 175 Refurbished $159.00
    RS 165 Refurbished $149.00
From Sennheiser outlet Australia for anyone that whats to spend alittle less or cannot afford RS185.

    • I'd recommend trying them in store if possible - for myself the 175's were very uncomfortable.

I bought these at the Sennheiser outlet for $150 (although they're not listed there atm). I can highly recommend this product. Comfort and sound quality are excellent.
They're not as versatile as say bluetooth headphones, as the source needs to be plugged into the base, but that's also not this products purpose.

@Pharmacy, @HandsomeJones - wow. Didn't realise the outlet store even existed… definitely something to keep an eye on. Are they re-conditioned to "new condition" or are they visibly used?

They look brand new in the two products I've bought from there, worst I had was a small scratch (a couple mm in length) on one of the ear cups.

I agree, they look brand new. My didn't have full packaging (plastics), but no real wear. I have HD 4.50 BTNC and have had for 18 months. They are great. No dramas at all. You also get 2 years warranty and 30 days return. Also all cables that came with my headphone and the bag to store them in were brand new

My go-to headphones for home use. Really strong in the comfort department, being open-back with full-size, velour circumaural earpads. Optical input is another plus most models don't have. Weakness is their "Kleer" wireless connection isn't as resistant to interference as recent Bluetooth headphones - I get cutouts much more readily with these as I move further from the base station.

    • This is a great point, these were great a couple of years ago, and are still good wireless headphones for what they do in this price range. But Bluetooth technology, especially for headphones, has come a long way since.

  • Great build quality and very comfortable ear pads, although you do notice the weight when wearing for long periods; the whole headset is quite large and bulky too.
I do get a buzzing noise when watching the TV, but it may be due to wireless interference- https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/7540083/redir, but yet try this solution as TV sounds drown out the buzzing anyway. Anyone else experienced the buzzing as was beginning to think they may be faulty?

    • Shouldn't be any buzzing originating from the headphones themselves or the wireless connection (being digital). If you're using the analog input, maybe it's a ground loop issue or the TV might just have a noisy audio output, so check if the TV has an optical one you can use instead.
