The colour isn't for everyone, which I assume is partly the reason for the low price. This specific model (Quincy Jones signature) went out of production a couple of years ago.
I'm a bit suspicious of the price, but from what research I've done, there isn't really a market for counterfeit Q701's. I paid with PayPal just to be sure.
Despite being 62 ohms 105 SPL/V, these are apparently fairly difficult to properly drive. Amp required.

You don't want lots of bass in games, you want a neutral sound-stage so that footsteps aren't drowned out and you get the positional audio. Open headphones are best for gaming with their wide soundstage.

AKG N20 IEMs toward the bottom of the listing are very good.
Especially @ $55 plus,I assume, Hardly Normal tax. Own two pair that cost ~ $120 each a few years ago.
No amplifier required,although I've not tried them with a DS4.
Tend to use them via the jack on my Epson TW-5300 PJs late at night.Big cans are useless with your head on a pillow.
Q701 should be OK with an amplifier. 3 to 4 times the price all up.

yeah that was mine. I actually bought on 23 July. After that one sold to a customer in the USA, I tried placing an order on 8 Aug but by then it was ozbargained and my order hasn't progressed past processing (authorized payment but not receipt stage yet)
With respect to the product it's a genuine item - made in China. Shipping was very quick via Toll.
I probably should have kept it in hindsight. it has a wider soundstage compared to my HD650.

price and value are concepts I think you should learn.
Used to run mine through a xonar essence stx pci soundcard the sound was amazing. Unfortunately the card died but it was going 6 or 7 years and a model has replaced it now.
The xonar essence seems to be a great match for AKG cans.. I run my K712's through it and and find it hard to beat for my tastes.

At first it sound not so well , but after 100 hours , the headphone begin to show it capacity , sound lively and flat across the range , now it is my permanent headphone at the computer , drive by USB port using Jriver , it is very good budget headphone , I like it more than the Drop HD6XX due to the clamp forge of the K701 very light and can be worn for hour , I am using a portable USB power XMOS usb + DAC5102 , a cheap unit from China , this Green one just ordered is the second one .
How do you find the sound quality compared with 6xx?
The HD6XX has tighter clamp forces, result to more bass, mid is little warmer( but the 701 is not much behind) and that forces is the one of the reasons I swap to 701, you can correct it to your taste by change filter, EQ, of your player.

I ordered and paid a few days ago. Got to know today that they do not have stock and do not know when it may be available again. If you do not have stock why do I can still see this available for purchase? Why don't you remove this immediately? Don't say it takes time to remove a product as that will mean your system is still living in 1990. This is 21st centenary and your stock should be connected to the product listing, I will never come to your site because I can no longer trust you. If you do not have stock, what will happen if the product is damaged beyond repair or faulty, I am sure you will ask me to contact manufacture and will give me ZERO customer service. So people, if you think after sales service is important, please avoid this site or else you will have shock later on.

Withheld our money, refusing to give it back when they knew we didn’t have the goods. Had to go through PayPal and all in all took us months to get it back. If u want to pay for goods that u don’t get then these are ur guys. They don’t even deserve a 1 star rating. Very upsetting.

I don't really need the phones but would have pulled the trigger if the seller was more reputable. I've had the same issue with them previously on a Redmi 6 pro that was falsely listed as "in stock"
Lets give them a chance. If they stuff most of us over we should blacklist posts where they are the seller.
Can always get PayPal onto them if needed.

It's possible they have a surge in stock because of these prior issues. They're likely a drop shipper and cannot allocate much more space to this particular item.

I hope that's the case, but this a pretty frequent occurrence when there aren't reasonable order limits. GPU deals have been the biggest target over the last couple of years.
I don't appreciate a poorly run business effectively undermining one that's having to make a few tough choices, as it's ultimately one company slowly dragging down another to its level of incompetence.
I have the AKG k702's. Had them for about 10 years now! Great headphones, have used them nearly every day. So comfortable, very light, great soundstage. Made in Austria. Easy to get replacement pads and cables. These are a great buy! With mine an amp/soundcard definitely pumps out more volume and makes them sound better. Not sure about this model though

With the exception of Bose and Sony ANC headphones, headphone deals generally don't get a lot of attention on OzBargain. I didn't expect nearly 5000 clicks (even though only a fraction would have actually purchased), and with some people ordering multiple units, it obviously was too much for Tobybuys crappy inventory script.
