  Sound is subjective, as different people prefer different style (Bose vs Sony vs Senheiser). But NC the Senheiser just can't compare with either Bose or Sony.
  
  I grabbed the Sony XM3 on Ebay plus sale and I can say I'm thoroughly impressed on the NC side.

Bought these the last time this deal was on. Headphones sound pretty nice but the hinge mechanism that you have to use to turn them off is kind of annoying and my headphones just stopped working after around 4 months of regular use (and I'm quite careful with my gear). JB HiFi happily replaced them on the spot, which was nice (Qantas refers you to them) but yeah be warned that the hinge design seems to increase the chance for malfunction…
