As a promotion for Subway's new 'Subcard' loyalty program, the outlet is giving away a free six-inch sub/wrap & a drink to the first 100,000 people who download the Subway app and sign up to the program.

Not exactly sure how you can redeem the free meal though - have signed up myself but don't see anything in the app about the offer

      I think this works, I ticked that box when creating an account and got my free meal voucher emailed to me about 2 hours after signing up

  • This was advertised a month ago at my local? I downloaded the app, registered and redeemed my free sub. But my partner took a whole week to do it and by then he didn't get the email noting the free sub anymore…this was about a month ago.

    Received the email and redeemed it today. Though the first store I went to didn't accept it because they didn't have a scanner yet.

    I claimed mine, the app is terrible… the timezones are AEST so if I'm placing an in-app order in WA to collect at the next earliest possible time (15 mins later) its actually 2 hours and 15 minutes. How did they manage to screw that up? Also once order is placed there's no way to see what you ordered, app just says order placed and the date/time.

    • Has to be a completely new account. Make a new subcard account using a new email address and it should work.

    Went to a store. Specifically looked at the register before ordering. I saw they had something that looked like a scanner, that was wrapped in cardboard branding 'subcard'. I asked if they did the app deal. A pretty quick 'no' in response. I think I got the owner (the person was relatively older).

    Promotions have certainly exposed me to the 'seedy underbelly' of franchise economics. If a company has a promotion, it should be funded by head office. The only reason stores refuse is because it is not.

    Now, the head office probably should not count an app redemption as a 'full sale' (in terms of the franchise getting the full $10 or whatever it would be with profit margin). But the stores should at least get refunded the cost of inputs, and maybe a small margin.

    I have went to that store for the previous free birthday sub as well. Disappointing…

    Either have it fully covered by the head office, or at least put up the list of participating stores. Annoying.

  • downloaded the app yesterday signed up yesterday received an email this morning saying I have a voucher to use ordered online got charged full price pickedup in store and told the staff and they told me to contact Subway on the app about being charged if it should have been free…

    • Did your checkout page have the free meal voucher deduction? I didn't have to provide any payment method if the confirmation page had a price of $0.

              I have investigated this for you and the reason you were charged is because you have ordered a 600ml drink.

              The offer is for a 6inch and a small cup drink or a 390ml coke variety.

              I will send you a new voucher. Please however ensure you order the right sized drink to redeem the offer.

    I tripled on this offer. Just be patient, the offer will show up! Install the app. They are not even checking whether the email you typed in is real.
    I got the offer without any email or phone verification. Simply download the app and register an account. The only thing you have to remember is the email and the password to login into the app. That's it. Getting sick of Subway, not sure will I take it up for a fourth time…

    So just register, you will get second email that stating you can get free 6" sub and small coke. After that just show that email to the store and you don't need to download their apps, you will get free food.

    • I find the process way easier with the app. No need to keep waiting, and checking the email, then downloading the PDF attachment, then struggling with scanning on the phone. Just use the app until you get sick off it then uninstall…

  • Had my freebie meal the first time this new sub card took off back in June this year, no problems. Love Subway, I have got the app on so everytime I order you put your mobile phone/app near scanner when paying and points are building up
