  • Just signed up with my old eat fresh email but can't see any free meal in the app yet.

    • +2

Hmm that's weird, I'm sorry if this deal doesn't work. I'll register now as well to see.

    • Same here. There isn't any section in the App or subcard website which shows vouchers/coupons either. How are we supposed to claim the reward?

      • Yeah, I guess we can try to awkwardly explain to the cashier at our local Subway? I'm sorry about this. I'll try and contact them to see what they have to say.

        • Have you got any email / voucher for the free sub and drink? the local Subway probably would be unaware and would need an email / barcode to provide it. Also, could you tell me who was the email "From"? Would search my mailbox then.

          • +1

@djoz: No, not yet. The email is from [email protected]

          • +2

@djoz: Took about an hour after registering but I got an email with a QR code for it.

            • @Aildaris: Thanks, I have got the first email informing about Subcard. I will register now. So, your QR Code is valid for next 7 days only, meaning 02-Jun-2019 ?

              • @djoz: Valid for 7 days does not mean "expired 24 days ago" though? :P

    • +16

Right so, I just called them and apparently it's gonna take up to 24hrs to shift your account to Subcard and then you should receive an email with a code you can use to redeem the meal. Apologies for the confusion.

  • Is this targeted? I am a Subway Eat Fresh Club member since over a year but I haven't got this email.

    • I received the same email this morning.

    • +1

You sure it's not in the spam? I realised I stopped geting Subway emails a couple months ago, turns out they were all sent to Spam.

      • Checked Spam, not in there.

        • Weird, maybe contact them? Otherwise I reckon you'll still get the email with the code, but I'm sorry I'm not able to help you.

  • +4

I received the email this morning too.
The app couldn't recognize my email account to login so i "signed up" with the same email address but didn't get any offer.

    • +4

Yeah, that's what you're supposed to do. They told me you would get an email within 24 hours of signing up with the code for the offer though, so hopefully that works.

      • +1

oh great. thanks for letting me know! :)

    • +3

I just received a mail including QR code for a free meal and drink!

      • I received the email re the launch of the subcard and free meal. Downloaded the app, signed up using the same email address. I received an email about 4 hours later confirming I signed up but nothing in the email about the free meal?

        • I received the email, but there was no mention of a free sub. I had already signed up to the new system.

  • +1

it only has the triple points no sign of free sub, (yes i registered with my old account).

    • +2

The code for the meal should be emailed to you 24 hours after you register.

  • +7

Time to dig up those old emails I only used to get a free birthday sub, and use them to get another free sub.

  • Thanks OP. patiently waiting to receive a free sub in my emails….(why not the app???)

"Plus, you’ll score triple reward dollars on your purchases for the first 2 weeks!"

What is the rate of earning? The FAQs on the website just dodges the question.

    • +1

No problem. There was a forum post about the point system, you can check it out here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/462918

Seems like a big step down from the Eat Fresh Membership though, doesn't really seem worth it to try and score points.

      • +1

        thanks for the link :)
consensus seems to be 3.6% outside of any promotions :(

        • +1

got my free sub email =)

  • +1

Ok, got the original email requesting to register at Subcard, at 12:28PM AEST. Looks like its being run in batches :-)

  • +1

    Done.

  • +6

Hilarious - I just got 36c on a $10 sub. I will need to buy 27.7 subs to get a free one

    • You just got a free sub in one year for doing nothing. Yet here you are signing up to get a free six inch.

      • +8

I'll give yer another free six inch if ya keep goin cheeky wee lad

    • +1

That's with triple points. In 2 weeks time it will become 12c.

    • +1

Every time you scan your Subcard®, you’ll earn valuable reward dollars

      Yeah, nah…valueless reward cents maybe

  • +2

Just got my email. I posted my thoughts on the other deal. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/462918#comment-7431975

    • Signed up for Subcard about an hour ago and my freebie email has come through.

  • +1

Saw the new cards at my local a few weeks ago. Girl at the counter had no idea what they were. I figured it out and saw the app it required.

Shame it doesn't work on my phone.

  • +3

Slow buggy junk app. Expected from Subway

Besides the free sub, the loyalty program is trash

Also no free sub even though signed up after receiving email. I'm assuming it takes 24 hours after registering from the above comments.

    • +1

Yeah, it's written in the description too :)

  • Any idea what would this case qualify for?
Created Eat Fresh Club account in May'2019.
Signed up to Subcard on 25 June'2019. Had NOT received the retention email - will I get the Free Sub and Drink?

    • You should be able to get it as long as you signed up with your old membership email.

      • Yes, I had signed up with the old membership email, but havent got the freebie email yet.

      • Still no email for the case mentioned above. I signed up for Subcard BEFORE they doled out this freebie email.

Also, is the freebie email only coming to those who have spent a "certain amount of time" with Eat Fresh Club? I suspect so. Any registrations of May'2019 with Eat Fresh Club who have received the promo of freebie on signing up with Subcard?

  • +1

Got my free meal voucher about 3 hours after registering.

  • +2

    Just received mine cheers OP.

  • +2

    Just received mine cheers OP.

    • +2

      😂

      • +1

        😂

        • Haha thanks for the laugh.

  • +6

Subway have been dead to me since they took away honey oat bread and sweet chilli sauce.

    • +4

They almost lost me when they got rid of Old English but then they wised up to their obvious mistakes.

  • +1

So does this mean the loyalty cards, specific to individual stores, they used to stamp or punch will no longer be used?
If so the value of Subway will take a major hit. Two free cookies with 5th sub, free six-inch on 10th sub and free footlong on 15th sub…

    • +1

So a follow-up on this. Went to my local and apparently they'll honour existing loyalty cards until finished. Not issuing any new cards. So got my two free cookies…

  • +1

Got the second offer email but have to use by 2 July 12am

    • +4

Good, more free subs for the rest of us!

    • +1

I upvoted for the free sub and the effort OP is putting in, but I'll keep it in mind when deciding whether to get the free sub.

  • +2

You can sign up with new details and you'll still get free 6 inch offer and maybe multiple email addresses

  • -1

Saw this just as I was heading out to lunch and decided to take up the deal. Haven't received my email yet so I'm fkn starving.

    • +6

theres 1 dollar big mac today…

    • +1

Sorry about that, the email should send within 24 hours.

  • +1

So, whats the most expensive, most filling sub you can get for free? The 6 inch usually isn't quite enough for a filling lunch…

  • +4

This might be the worst "loyalty program" I've ever seen. Bar getting a free 6inch meal upon sign up, and when the triple points offer finishes, it looks like you will be receiving around 1.2% back in loyalty dollars. Even if you got a footlong sub every week, you wouldn't earn enough dollars to get a free sub in a year!

    • +2

Points also expire in a year. You better grab a 6 inch while you can. After buying 50 of the damn things.

      • +3

Yeah, not a fan of the new system either. Sad to see Eat Fresh Club go ):

  • +1

    thanks OP

    • no problem :)

  • +5

I got an email from them, but with no mention of a free sub, or the new app. Just a note saying they are closing the club and online catering. The email is from Subcard, so that's the only clue to there being a new offering.

    • +2

Exactly the same for me. No mention of the new program.

      • Have you guys gotten the email with the code yet? It should register with your old email even if you didn't get the original email.

    • +1

The free meal ended up coming through in the app

  • -4

I won't eat subway even if you paid me.

    • +3

I would, if they paid me.

      • -4

You going to get food poisoning

        • How many loyalty points for salmonella?

  • +1

"Dear victi…erm…friends, we're closing our online catering (we can't be ***ed anymore) and replacing our rewards program with a practical joke. Better be quick placing your bets on how long before we are part of your nostalgia posts. p.s. You can't have swiss cheese anymore, but we hope you like our squas…erm…smashed falafel. only twice the cost of your local food truck."

    • +4

Yeah I miss that swiss cheese, dammit

      • +4

People often point out that you can BYO but at that point you might as well make your own sandwich from scratch.

        • I take my own salad and meat to the subway.
They are artists so when they make it it tastes better.

  • is this only available for 'existing' eat fresh club member? I'm member but can't login with my email address wtf? did they just delete my email in their system?

    • +2

You have to re-register with their new app or subcard website.

I received Q code for a free meal a few hours after reg.

  • +2

I registered 2 hours later received an email for 3 times points but no free meal
    Anyone know why?
    THX

    • Maybe ask customer support?

    • Same here. Registered with the same email I used for the Eat Fresh Club, and only received the 3x points email.

And, when I search for restaurants near me (not only is it slow), but hardly any locations show up.

  • The two stores near work (the only place I buy subway) aren't participating :-/

  • +1

Registered, half an hour later got the free meal email offer, went to the Subway 2 hours later but it didn't work and the girls at the counter had no idea what this email is. Anyway they tried a few times and it didn't work so had to pay full price. Really pissed and embarrassed!

    • I'm sorry about that, did you contact customer support?

    • +1

I tried to order throu the new app yesterday. Added offer in the cart and ordered a 6-inch sub and a small bottle of coke, and the price didn’t turn $0 like it said on the offer. So I just gave up.

from the email i received this morning…

A special treat on your birthday

i wonder what this could be.
basically, the only time i ate at subway were when i got the free birthday subs.
all good things come to an end, i suppose

    • +3

      see here - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/462918

It's a free cookie and drink with main item purchased :|

      • +3

Yes, saw that. A huge disappointment compared to the previous Eat Fresh Offer - Free 6 inch sub and drink on your birthday.

      • that is weak, to put it politely.

      • +1

Well that's a crap offer from Subway. Sugar water is worth a few cents. Bring back the free 6inch sub for a birthday at least.

  • +3

i went to subway on the 20th June and decided to register for a subcard on the same day as my local store had those cards on display. Upon signing up using the same email as my Subway Eat Fresh Club member, I received an email for triple points but no free meal. If only I waited a few more days to receive the email regarding the change over to subcards then i wouldn't have missed out on the free meal… so heartbreaking

    • +1

      Dam, that's unfortunate ):

      • +2

yes, it is =(. i think subway should make this a welcome offer for signing up not just cause of the changeover
