Not at $300 they don't. I've got two of these btw, one is modded. Also got two Vita's. This isn't a bargain. Mod a Vita for a lot less $$.

I had one a couple of times. Worked OK but not great. Also didn’t allow non-game streaming which was frustrating (e.g. Netflix)
A lot of people can get around it by soft modding the console to get around the restrictions of games and streaming services such as Netflix
Don't bother convincing people. As someone who likes modded and retro console I get where you're coming from, but it's really not a deal considering you can find them for far cheaper as long as you look in the right places, as is with any retro consoles.
I still think a Nvidia shield TV could do most if not everything this could and it's great for emulation, recently on sale for $186 aud.

If new it'll should have pre 3.60 firmware which will in turn make it attractive to a certain tinkering type of audience. Probably still not worth $299 but kind of amazed they still have NIB stock that they didn't already sell for closer to $50 back a few years when everyone else was washing their hands on the Vita

I mean, it's pretty much entirely Sony's fault my boy tanked, but like, still makes me sad. Also yeah, twice the RRP, not a deal. And even if you wanna go the "rare, retro, collectible" kind of route, it's still a shit price compared to those you can find on eBay with no effort.

I’ve looked weeks and no store has it I’ve rung stores across the county to find out if they have the ps tv and the only answer I got is no the only places that have it are eBay, Amazon or gumtree etc

Well the purpose for the ps tv differs from a tv people buy Playstation TVs to mod them and to use as a 2nd ps4 via remote play
Remote play is actually really bad. If you're interested in one of these for remote play I'd advise you to not bother. Also check out hacking a Vita instead of buying a PSTV as it can be modded into docking like a switch and doing everything that a PSTV can.
I can't believe these are going for this much given EB had them for less than $50..

Have one gathering a decent amount of dust from this deal back in 2015. Remote Play was so poor even if both the PS4 and PSTV were on LAN.

No, sorry. No deal.The history of the ps vita tv is so odd. It was a very niche failed product, I never would have got it. But checked it out on YouTube when I was looking recently to stream ps4 to another TV, and yeah, prices are ridiculous!
It's also really quite poor at streaming tbh. I set up a wired network with zero firewalls just for it and it was never perfect.
