      nope, specially not a green drive, typically you can only pull a max of about 100MB off them, unless you flooding the bus(not sure if the limit is per channel- so if you using a multiplexor), sta 1 - which is 1.5 should be ample.

        You might get a increase of speed when pulling data in/out of the buffer/cache.

        I read a review on the WD Green Sata2 vs Sata3 and I am sure that I read that the burst speeds were better on the (otherwise identical) Sata3 version.

        But you're right on sustained rates, you'd be lucky to saturate a Sata1 connection.

    If this is 7200rpm, then its NOT a green drive making it a bargain.
    Typically a green drive is half the price of the 7200rpm version.

      7200rpm does not make it a bargain.
      It is only a bargain when compared with what price you can get the same thing somewhere else.
      As jesseboy89's link above proves, this is available in multiple locations for less.
