  • What about using loyalty credit….still get cash back

  • Guess it’s time to stock up on buckets then

  • Well bugger me.

I was so quick on the sale starting at midnight, I already bought what I wanted with cashrewards 5%. Darn it.

    Ah well.

    • +1

Buy again and return the stuff from the previous order

    • Just cancel the order. I've cancelled days after ordered.
If not picked up it should cancel and refund after about 2 weeks. (Just slightly change pickup first name on next order or order from different store.)
Have returned unused items to store & got easy refund.
Gift card payment should refund as a gift card - haven't tried.
Lots of options, if the extra Cashback is worth the effort.

  • damn it, why didnt i see this before buying a battery

the chrome web plugin still only showed 2.6% :/

    • You're next comment. Damn why didn't I read the comment above mine.

      • paid with discounted gift card… really not worth the hassle/risk over $10

I'll just live with the internal ozbargainer regret
(though i was going to buy air/cabin filters but after some quick googling saved more just buying via ebay, so it all evens out)

My experience with SB has been very hit and miss. Mostly miss. Prefer CR too.

    • +3

Strange because it’s the complete opposite for me, SB has always tracked a lot better than CR but you could have worded your post a bit more maturely. Calling them a joke and having no honour is uncalled for!

      • -4

Wow, i never missed even a bit with cashrewards used them for 3 years. And they honour by the way they respond to you, and quick give you the cash back. Not with shop back I used 3 time missed 2 so what did you conduct some one more mature or you are abit pre_mature ?? I hope it strange to me from you but I am not only one, there are many people from reviews, just quick google you will see how shopback is doing. It is what it is

  • This should stack with gift cards yeah?

    • Would like to know

      • +1

I used a gift card and purchase tracked through SB.

        • I notice the terms in the app say “Don’ts: gift card purchases unless otherwise stated”.
I hope it doesn’t get denied but I’ll give it a shot too.

          • @unco: That means no cashback when you buy a SCA gift card; it does not mean no cashback when you paid with a SCA gift card.

          • @unco: ShopBack condition is poorly defined. I complained to ShopBack about confusing t&c shortly after ShopBack started😠

Nothing to lose by trying, just a couple of clicks.
Cashback will track, but may not be paid.

        • Cashback will track as payment method is not known, but may not be paid later by SuperCheap to ShopBack, then to us.

  • Thanks for this.
Just bought an Optima battery using Entertainment Book gift cards so hopefully if this cash back allows gift cards (and the redirect worked properly) then should get another 10% off.
    $399 - 20% off = $319.20 (sale price)
$300 of gift cards at $270
    Cash back at $31.92
    $270 +19.20 - 31.92 = $257.28
Math might be off but at least the gift cards worked :-)

    • Entertainment book gift card says allow up to 2 days, how long did yours take to arrive?

      • Straight away. I bought them this morning. Links were in the email. It’s an image though so have to manually type in the number.

        • +1

Awesome thanks for the quick reply!

Shopback is my go to. They have amazing cashbacks!

  • +3

Killer cash back offers from Shopback lately. So much better than the other one.

  • Off to SCA to look for a deal

  • How long before it shows on shopback?

  • -2

Could you get $100 cash back, then return the products in store for a profit?

    • "Accounts that engage in fraudulent orders/activities to game/cheat the Cashback system will be banned and Cashback forfeited"

      • Interesting. I wonder how they'd know.

  • The Bowdens leather care pack is cheaper on the repco site. I rang supercheap for a price eat and they said they can't price beat that cos the price is set by the supplier or something. Pretty disappointed. I don't even think a discounted gift card can match repcos price cos it's $10 cheaper

    • I got a price beat on Bowden's against Repco in store today.

      • The pack I want isn't available in store I don't think :-(

  • my shop back notifier only showing 2.1%? anyone else get this?

    • Same for me

Next headline in the paper: Super retail group's profit badly hit by small group of hackers….

  • Dilemma
    8% instant discount gift card.
    Or
10% cash back and a long wait.

    • Why not both? It does not say purchases with gift cards are excluded, only that the purchase of gift cards is not valid for cashback.

My two purchases were with discounted gift cards and both tracked.

      • Tracking does not mean it will be paid - after a long wait. SuperCheap makes that decision, not ShopBack.
        But no harm in trying.
        Wording of condition is ambiguous.

        • I know how these cashback services work but thanks for the explanation!

Never had an issue in the past so I don’t see why there would suddenly be a drama now. The wording is pretty straightforward…how much clearer would like it spelt out for you?

          • @MaximumEffort777: If it was clear, people would not be discussed it. There was a response & discussion to your earlier comment about tracking - questioning it.
I questioned the ambiguous wording in another deal…
No cashback: Gift card purchases unless otherwise stated
Is that purchases of gift cards, rather than purchases made by gift card??

            • @INFIDEL: Yes and that person has misunderstood the wording….

              DON’Ts:
Gift Card purchases unless otherwise stated.

An example from The Iconic where cashback would not be eligible with the use of a gift card:

              DON’Ts:
              Purchases using gift cards.

See the difference? Just because some people don’t understand the wording correctly does not make it vague.

              • @MaximumEffort777: Strangely, what words & phrases mean keeps lawyers very busy & rich. It's not necessary what we might think it means.

Gift card purchases can mean purchases of gift cards (your meaning) or purchases made with gift cards.

ShopBack has made misleading mistakes in their wording before!

As an overseas business, they have failed to explain some conditions clearly & saw no reason to do so. This had led to a problems they did not anticipate. I spent a lot of time with them clearing this up.

A different, clearer & consistent wording is all that is required.

While CashRewards has a guarantee to cover such problems, ShopBack doesn't.

                • @INFIDEL: I’ll think we’ll leave it at that, we’ve obviously had very different experiences it seems.

                  • @MaximumEffort777: I've had confidential dealings with Cashback businesses over these matters.

                    • @INFIDEL: Congratulations.

                      • @MaximumEffort777: Thanks😉

"Cash purchases" (a commonly used phrase in retail) are not purchases of cash as your logic would dictate, but purchases made with cash.

Similarly, "Gift card purchases" can describe purchases made with gift cards.
                        Or purchases of gift cards.
Both are possible by the wording, so ambiguous - requiring rewriting.

It's like a gestalt effect, but with words. It depends on your starting point of thinking, as to what you view it as. Once you take 1 view, it is hard to see it any differently.

My training was in identifying & dealing with ambiguities & uncertainties. Most people don't notice ambiguities & avoid uncertainty. Some are too aware of them to easily cope😢 It gives some interesting insights into thinking, on a personal or corporate level.

When in business - ambiguous language (especially in t&c) can be a costly mistake - for the business & customers. So best avoided!

The wording is pretty straightforward…how much clearer would like it spelt out for you?

                        It's certainly not clear.
                        Good night🌙

      • Cash rewards or Shopback.
Cash rewards tracks quickly, shop back takes just enough to have forgotten.

        • If you say so.

          • @MaximumEffort777: Your shopback has tracked already?
Not bad considering they say 2 days

            • @Spending2Much: Correct, both within 3hrs of purchasing. Unlike CR who I made two transactions through a few days ago and neither has tracked and no record on their backend of a purchase being made. Now to wait 7 days to lodge a manual claim and hope for the best!

Anyway, this is all rather OT so moving on…

              • @MaximumEffort777: In saying that, I literally just got tracking of the $120 purchase I made last night very early hours this morning.(second order)
The first order part paid with loyalty credit, made previously, hadn't tracked yet.
I'd hasten that payment by loyalty credit means it's ineligible…both orders were paid for with discounted gift cards.

Rep: Supercheap have extended their offer until tomorrow, will this 10% cashback be available until then too?

  • I been buying all day with Youi 10% off SCA $100 gift cards (so $90 per card) + 10% Shopback! Brought 2, 2 days ago and 6 today. Seems unlimited so far.

  • how come the chrome extension still say 2.1%?

  • +1

ah damn it I compared between SB and CR on the chrome extension, SB still said 2.1% so I went with CR's 5%…

  • +2

    Back to 2.10% Cashback
But SuperCheap sale extended online for Sunday.
