  FYI for people wondering about the super steady shots from the new DJI Osmo Action compared to this, if you're really serious look into ReelSteady. It's $99USD but makes the GoPro a solid competitor.

  Yes it's more work in Post, and granted it is only for people with a post-production workflow but will render much better footage.

    The real reason I was planning on getting a gopro 7 black is because of hypersmooth.
    Does this mean that I can actually use ReelSteady and a cheaper version of the gopro 7 (like a silver) and still achieve the same/better look?

      Essentially yeah? You can get incredibly smooth footage from a Hero 5 same as the 7, but it takes using that plug-in after filming to get that result, Not just out of camera.

      I'd look at some example videos on YouTube but I was shocked when I found out about the plug-in, and found a lot of Pro's that were using GoPro's on shoots were running it through this plug-in (before Hypersmooth).
