  • I'd suggest people would be better off spending another $20 and getting the 3200 sticks, especially if running a Ryzen CPU

    • +4

      20% more expensive but I don't think it's even 5% faster.

      • Might as well go 2666

      • But at the same time, if you're building say a $1000 PC it would be 2% of the cost for 5% more performance, which makes a lot more sense. It's all about building a balanced system.

        • And actually, only $12 more for the black 3200mhz kit on Amazon US (sorry, don't know how to get a link from the app)

  • It’s C15, isn’t it better than a C16 3200mhz?

    • C16 @ 3200MHz is 15 clock cycles = 5 nanoseconds
      C15 @ 3000MHz is 16 cc = 5 nanoseconds

But generally your ram will perform faster after the initial latency in performing it's operations internally etc.

      • Thanks for the explanation!

Sorry I completely stuffed that up. It should have been:

        C16 @ 3200MHz is 16 clock cycles (1/3.2GHz*16) = 5 nanoseconds
        C15 @ 3000MHz is 15 cc = 5 nanoseconds

But generally your faster clocked (3200) ram will perform faster after the initial latency in performing it's operations internally etc.

ah crap, I already bought the Ballistix Sport LT for $5 more..

    • I ordered these also, I think we got the better deal.
These have Micron E-Die which are by far the best bang for buck chips at the moment.

You could have had ram and a meat pie. Now you only have ram.

  • Anyone can confirm if this will work with the new ryzen chips?

    • At this stage Ryzen works with basically all ram. 3000Mhz is not a problem.

  • Yay ram prices coming back down to earth!

  • Price isn't that great IMO, unless you want Corsair branding. Better deal: https://www.newegg.com/global/au-en/geil-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-s…

  • Check the first review on the page.. be aware!! Lol

    • Its sold and shipped by Amazon US. Doubt its a fake. That review is more likely to be faked.

  • Thanks OP, this will work well in a very tight SFF build.

  • I got two ram stick if add this two even different brand do you think its fine? Or it will work?

    • It will still work, provided they physically fit into the RAM slots (for example, mixing DDR4 RAM and DDR3 RAM won't work).

I don't think branding is the issue, it's the RAM speeds. Whatever your computing needs are, the speeds may or may not make a difference to your experience.

  • The QVL list of my mobo supports this model CMK16GX4M2B3000C15. Basically it is the black colour of the same ram. Do you think if I used this one it would work like the black colour version? Because I could not find the white colour version in the QVL list of my mobo. I'm asking because the price difference is almost $20. So I just might return the black ones that I bought and buy the white ones.
