  • actually missing 9 and 31…dammit i want them.

    can find 9 on amazon
    http://www.amazon.com/Slam-Dunk-Vol-Takehiko-Inoue/dp/142152…

    not 31…my goodness

    • they should have them at kinokuniya, if you don't mind paying 10

  • Sneaky leaving out the first few volumes of a series from the sale

  • Yeh really reccomend Slam Dunk, bought it the other time it was on sale, reading it the third time through

  • +6

Urgh, can't they list it by series instead of showing ten thousand volumes for every single different anime?

    • Sorry, posted by mistake.

  • usually read them online but at $2… oh so tempting..

  • Think I'll get Slam Dunk Vols 1-8 & some other crappy manga. Unfortunately there's nothing else that really stands out as a must-have. A lot of these are long series as well so you can't buy anything like DOMU where its just 1 book

  • pitty they havent got the whole series of One Piece on sales :(
    still a good deal however

    • $10 for two volumes is pretty good

  • I do like how it shows you the amount that you've saved through the discounts… $114 (incl shipping), RRP 602.25. Christ, manga sure is overpriced.
Resisted the temptation to buy the DBZ series, too many missing volumes, and at $5 a pop.

    • Well people usually buy a new graphic novel around once every couple of months as it gets released. They don't buy the whole series at once ;)

Also I used to pay $30 per graphic novel back when importing wasn't an option. Now THAT was a ripoff :P

      • when was that? $30 a book is sooo expensive

        • I remember it as $30 too! I got a couple then stopped as it was too exxy, plus I saw the anime series already

        • Like the late 1990s :P Paperback quality was better, bigger & much more professional looking though than today's tiny books

    • I remember having spent roughly ~$300 for my entire Dragon ball Collection, then another $60 for the movie manga collection, then another $30 for Toriyama's parodies…Super Neko-jin and so forth…

      Those were the days…pricey books.

  • when I was living in Tokyo I used to walk past piles of mangas on trash night.

    • probably the lower quality brown paper manga

  • Shame you had to explain what Manga is.

    • lol only trying to turn more poeple into otakus :P

  • +1

Can't believe I just spent $86 on the Slam Dunk and Love Hina. Lol, recommended retail value =$468, saved $382 wow.

    Thanks OP

  • Any other recommendations, other than Slam Dunk?

  • Oh hell yes. I picked up volume 30 at borders for $9 today. I've been meaning to complete Slam Dunk for a long time but could never justify shelling over the hundreds of dollars it would take to do so. Good thing I already have Volumes 9 and 31 since they're missing.

    • dislike you~~ T.T should i pay 15 bucks for 31?

  • I think there might have been a pricing error when this first started. A few days ago these were $1 (for the $2 ones) and $3.50 (for the $5 ones).

    • omg, i totally missed that but $2-$5 is still cheap

  • I wouldn't mind getting the Love Hina books, but Vol 3 isn't available… anyone know where I might get that from?

    • Just tentatively…
      http://www.kinokuniya.com/sg/index.php/fbs003?common_param=9…

Googling the ISBN number shows another website stating it is the Chuang Yi version.

Edit: If I haven't got it wrong…it's S$7 for Vol.03, but bluddi S$29,80 for delivery to Aus.

Gonna enquire about whether Kinokuniya S'pore can transfer stock to the Sydney store first, before delivering domestically.

      • you can buy from bookdepository and many online book stores, for the rest. Only vol 31 is hard to get.

i didnt know you can ask them to transfer to syd store before posting to other places. u think delivery price will change?

i accidentally put an order for vol then i email them to check how much they will charge (coz i thought faq might not be updated). even the order doesnt say how much delivery will be, so when they emailed my equiry back and stated S$30, i instantly cancel order and account.

  • Well I just got +Anima. It seemed ok from what I read of it but if it turns into a furry love fest then I guess I have some expensive kitty litter. All I'll need is a cat.

There was also some star trek which made me curious.

Nothing I /actually/ wanted and yet I spent money. Sigh. I think I failed here somewhere.

    • I know what you mean "But its only $2!" I keep saying to myself :(

      • Same spent so much, keep thinking to myself its only 2 dollars so freaken cheap… :)

  • Bought Slam Dunk Vol 1-6 & Tenchi Muyo 1-5. Didn't really want to invest in a whole series, I like to have some variety

  • Dragon ball is a better manga than Slam Dunk.

    • +1

      But there's over 9000 volumes! :P

      • Every one of them is worth it. Akira Toriyama is a brilliant artiste.

    • maybe but most people have seen the anime on tv

      • You're talking about Dragonball Z, not Dragonball. Or maybe they released the English version of Dragonball already. Damn i'm out of touch with the times.

        • wow i didn't know that D:
i better buy some dragonball manga

    • don't diss slam dunk

  • Anyone know the delivery time? Bought a bunch of volume 1's to get a feel of what manga I want to read and buy more of. Hope it is not more than a week or 2.

  • Positive man brought love hina slam dunk and midori and just 100 bucks all up can't belive it!!

  • daughter went nuts 26 books in 26 seconds

  • Bit late but if anyone is interested to know, I got all the missing ones directly from the publisher… Was missing 11-12 volumes from all sorts of titles I got off madman, each book including shipping ended up costing me about $11.80/book to complete each of my series! If you work out the cost of $2 per book then 1-2 missing volumes at $11.80/book, the whole series is still dirt cheap! Less than 50-75% lol
