also have one and agree with slick7 =)
I still miss my previous kettle though… The ability to set temperature was awesome. When I make green tea I don't need 100 degrees. But sadly that kettle was some weird unknown brand and it was a gift so not much chance of warranty etc. It just stopped turning on and would turn off randomly when it did start to heat.
Anyway this Breville seems a lot more solid - like it would last twice as long at least. Just have to turn it off manually if I dont want boiling hot water.
List price is ridiculous , still beats Amazon $69 .
Don't think they need a limit of 50 per customer :)
Oh no - I really wanted 55 kettles so I'll look elsewhere said not a single person ever :)
Do you people now how to clean metal base of metal kettle a lot of stain
just boil the water with a lemon and let it rest for one hour
Mix half amount of lemon juice with water, then press the button to let it boil. Those stains should disappear.
As well as a lemon you can buy Citric Acid powder and then just boil with 1/2 teaspoon and leave for an hour.
Dear Slick7 and Zrmx, does it make loud noise when boiling water? I am looking for a silence or quiter kettle. Thanks
Actually i just read review from productreview someone said definitely not quiet kettle. Thanks
I have a 95% similar looking Breville kettle to this that advertises a "quiet" kettle and it is definitely not quiet at all.
If you want a quiet way to boil water get a cheap induction cook-top and a large metal jug if you set a timer the hotplate will turn off by itself. It takes a few more button presses then a kettle but it is faster and silent.
This is quieter than our old Russell Hobbs 'quiet' kettle. We admittedly didn't descale the latter regularly, but no amount of subsequent descaling made it quiet. Some say following the manufacturer recommendations for 'quiet' kettles, such as descaling every 4-6 weeks, prevents them getting louder - if you're not prepared to do that, then forget it and buy on other aspects (in which we can't fault the BKE700, unless you need temperature control).
This is not a quiet kettle at all. Very noisy with cold water in it.
Decent kettle, got the same one (and matching toaster) in the last round of Myer eBay discounts.
The ‘soft top’ / clear window at the top of the kettle is pointless, mine is full of condensation or steam when boiling so can never see into the kettle.
I've got this kettle and it's good value at $55. I've paid at least $80.
