I didnt get that reference, care to explain?

The Fifth Element reference, because of the OP's name.

Cheaper options with eBay Plus 20% sale (with code POLAR20), for example:

Not including cashback makes it much better.

      • Computer alliance ebay have the BX500 240GB for cheaper if you have above the min order amount to use the code PRETZEL

        Showing 45?

Amazon has bx500 240gb for 35 with prime

The OP is not really a deal. The 480gb is more expensive than others. The 240gb is the same as others.

  • Can not wait for M2's to be this low ;l but man are these prices right.

I'd probably spend a bit more and get the mx500 instead of the bx, given the speed and reliability.

    • +1

how much is a bit more? double?

      i remember the speed difference between 250gb / 500gb MX500 , is huge too.

For the 250GB version, the price difference works out to be $17.8 using the POLAR20 sale here: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Crucial-MX500-Series-250GB-2-5-S…

Yes it's faster, and its endurance is rated better as well. I reckon the MX500 outdid some of higher priced samsung models back when it was released, so it's really a lot more for a little extra money.

          I'd vote on a MX500 for a OS drive and the BX500 for a secondary/ultra cheap PC.

My auntie has a Dell D830 that I put a $35 BX500 into and it was leaps and bounds better then the 80GB HDD it had.

  • Thanks OP, I got one and used my $10 credit from streaming prime Video which brought the price down to $25 delivered (I have prime)!

  • Use the Kingstons for staff at work (networked machines - no files saved on drive) - they're great and I highly recommend them.

  • Thanks OP, but considering these prices, I would rather purchase it from an Australian seller like Computer Alliance. Even if they were a few dollars more.
I'm starting to grow concerned with Amazon frankly. Beyond subscribing to Amazon Prime (for streaming), I will now make a concerted effort to reduce purchasing from Amazon for sake of our economy and fellow man. (My view anyway)

got my first ssd recently. WOW!

i spent 25 bucks on a 240gb ssd and the difference in startup and program load times is absolutely incredible. Best value upgrade for a pc
