Needs root access to work
The "turn off cores" is a handy feature.
You can leave just two big cores on, for hardly a performance hit. Or leave just one, for a noticeable hit but still maintain some performance. Or turn them off to get much better battery life at the expense of performance. It can make huge differences depending on the App/pseudo-multitasking.
Great app. I generally run all the cores automatically on some apps such as PUBG but run battery Saver profiles when not using those cpu / gpu intensive apps.
Use this in combination with Naptime. Battery life is ridiculous.
Sounds silly compared to simply using a more conservative governor …
Remember buying this back in the day for my Nexus 4. Was the only way to give it decent battery life.
Dunno about rooting anymore, most functionality is now in the phone. It also completely disables Knox and Samsung Pay.
i don't recommend disabling Knox on Samsung phones,
but rooting on other phones is fine, because you can restore the bootloader again.
Good thing about Knox is, the usage of SamsungPay and cryptocurrency wallets.
Rooting permanently cripples Sony phones too.
Not always, you can temproot, backup the TA partition with all the DRM keys, then unlock the bootloader and put the keys back where they belong and you keep all your cool DRM functions along with root
Only works on the XZ and XZ1 series though
Worst game ever.
better than fortnite
Battery Monitor works on unrooted phones (next release will make it easier to access even if not rooted). Long press the launcher icon on this version to access it. {from author's tweet} Tested and it is reporting stats…
Better Battery Stats and GSam Battery Monitor are pretty good battery monitoring applications already.
thanks so much for this, @elitistphoenix!
now, waiting for EX Kernel Manager to go on 'sale' ^_^
No probs. I actually bought both a while ago. Both great Devs and I'm happy to support them.
If I see it go on special I'll be sure to post
Is he still an A hole?
No he's a really nice dev. Personally responds to threads and messages
Good to hear he's changed. He was insufferable back when I had the Nexus 5. Very rude and condescending back when I followed him on xda
Trust me when I say this, it's real easy for users to get under a developers skin. Constantly being asked the same questions again in a developer forum gets real old and real quick. People should know how to search for answers and it can easily lead to a developer being rude and condescending.
Currently however, Franco is excellent at support. Pretty much unrivaled.
He even puts up with myself and a few others giving suggestions/asking for assistance with issues in the private Lawnchair friends Telegram group.
@Skittles9823: Yup to this.
Infact I've also messaged him on Twitter a couple of times, and he's responded politely and informatively on each occassion.
As an aside, already own this and Kernel Adiutor…..add me to the list of those waiting for EX Kernel Manager.
Literally looked at this tool last night, thanks
Nice find. Franco is a big name in Android dev scene. He develops kernels for many flagships
