  • The links to websites don't work.

    • You probably have to use desktop mode on your phone

Agnes won’t let you have snacks anyway

Hey, I'm a grown man mother!

        • Maybe you can get some 'steamed hams' :)

Was in there a week ago. Stock levels are severely lacking and price gouging is getting pretty steep for some items :(

    • We had had an unfortunate delay on our two recent deliveries and they had arrived in two days before our sale started.

We added an extra 5% off for this sale to compensate but we actually received in all 600+ returning items before the sale. Our warehouse manager Shawn worked over time to get everything ready for it

I haven't bought anything from them for ages..

Just checked their site now, $35.89 for a 12 pack of Dr Pepper - who are they kidding ??
    what a joke

    • Somehow in the little town of Campbelltown we have 2 places to buy a case of Dr Pepper and then another in the near by suburb of Narellan.
Both places charge anywhere from $16-$25 for a 12 pack.

    • Considering it sells at a retail price at Costco. You could pay for your Costco membership just flipping some Dr Pepper at well below what USA Foods think they can extort out of people for it.

      • Interesting, how much is it at Costco?

        • I believe $29.99 for 24 cans most recent price I can see from recent Whirlpool post. Used to be around $25 I thought but I haven't lived in Melb or had membership for 5 years probably. I think best is that at Costco they have lots of US foods and they're just at the same price as everything else, not some special thing.

          • @deelaroo: Usa foods is selling 24 Dr Pepper cans for $27
To be fair I think the cost structure/overheads of a two outlet specialist retailer would be very different to Costco.

            • @Stewardo: Ahk not bad then, I just saw about saying $35.89 for a 12 pack

              • +1

@deelaroo: That’s for the Spider-Man dark berry limited edition Dr Pepper, which does sound like a rip off

    • +1

This is incorrect, the price is $17.99 not including the 25% discount for all 12 packs excluding the limited edition Dark Berry which is priced as a single can only due to its rarity. We we're lucky to get that in stock.

Dr pepper is a weird but wonderful soft drink.

    • Or not. Yuck.

    • +1

Diet Cherry Dr Pepper is the most wonderful soft drink. Shame they never have it in stock

Yes or even Cherry Pepsi Max is great as well. There's something about Australia not liking Cherry flavoured stuff I think its the best flavour.

        • cherry flavours were popular in the 80s, they even had sara lee cherry pies in the supermarket freezers next to the apple pies …..then australian palates changed unfortunately …..love cherry stuff.

So prices will still be 50% inflated?

    Bought Miracle Whip. Thanks.

  • Their shipping rates are ridiculous, put a slab two of Mexican coke (it's great) in cart and its $50 shipping!

    • And amazon just shipped a 15kg bag of dog food for free which total was less then the shipping from usa alone.

      • We have no where near the volume or resources of Amazon (and neither do any small business) but we have changes lined up for better more accurate shipping costs due to launch with our new website in August.

A heads up, if you buy Pop Tarts, they have them at Aldi starting this today for $3.99 I don’t know if it’s just chocolate ones though.

  • This place is a really sad shadow of what it used to be (the physical shop that is). I don't know how they're still in business.

    • they also have a catering division which sells wholesale eg 1 kg of spices, 4 litre taco sauce, etc and that is easy money with minimal customer interaction .

      • I remember in the early 2000s they had a small shop off Centre Road, Bentleigh, next to the train line. This was before the online ordering started. Their store was literally the only place in Melbourne you could buy most of these American things. Now you've got so many options.

    • Probably somes up most small businesses, if they don't get the support of their local community, what do you expect will happen?

      • Well it's hard to support them when they moved to some isolated industrial estate, instead of their old location on the busy Centre Rd shopping strip. For me, they're no longer really "local".

  • Damn. Was about to make an $80 order till I get to the shipping screen worth $50. Shame.

I wouldn't be here bitching but fastway aren't worth that money.
