    • Todays news…Tomorrow!.

Will they be supplying the $2 Wiggles DVD that is being advertised with the Sunday Herald Sun?

Franklins in Campbelltown Mall, NSW gives out The SMH free with purchases over $5 every weekend.

I can see the slow death of print editions here!

The Herald Sun brought to you by Limited News? I hope you don't expect to learn anything!

Could be great for emergency toilet paper, creating paper dresses on hen nights, wrapping presents…

    • I am not sure I would trust those papers that much, certainly good for Garden Bed to keep weeds away!

  • wow that's good!

    $5 is easy to spend

    lucky to those applicable

Franklins at Top Ryde have been giving out SMH daily when you spend $5 or more :)

    • i thought i heard wrong when the guy asked if i wanted a free SMH last week when i was there picking up $30 Huggies.
Didn't really read it though (we read it online) and it was in the bin the next day

  • In NSW spend $5 or more tomorrow (Sunday 12 June) at Woolworths and receive a free copy of the Sunday Telegraph. And in some Franklins supermarkets today (Sat 11 June )spend $5 or more and get the SMH Free and tomorrow Sun Herald free.
On the previous occasions when they were giving away free Sun Herald at Franklins, two customers in front of me at the check out refused to take up the free newspaper when offered, which made the check out girl say "GEE you cannot give it away".

Yes! News Limited papers are always good for a door mat or dirty rag on rainy days.

Reminded me of an old Cathy Wilcox cartoon:

      Woman: What's the news?
      Man: Limited.

  • I am sorry, but Franklins has done this for years. I can barely give them away. Around 1 out of 10 customers take them. They run out at 6PM, which is really puzzling. In fact, I have seen people take it, and literally throw it out at the nearest bin after reading the headline.

It rotates between Herald and Telegraph, seemingly at random. I remember the promo going daily for around 2 months. Lately it seems to be daily, but you never know when they stop it.

Oh, and you don't need to swipe your Franklins card either.

Woolies is trying again to guess where you shop from your card. The card is useless to me since I seldom buy enough to earn points and why should I give them more marketing info. I've stopped carrying it around.

    • +2

Exactly, I see no benefit at all to scan the orange card for purchase under $30.

I notice they have the Herald Sun free at Avalon airport baggage collection area. I realise no one is going to go out there just for that. However, if you are picking someone up or know someone arriving handy time to grab one if you remember.

  • Got a free paper today at my local Franklins, better deal IMO as not required to have a loyalty card, which i dont have for either Franklins or Woolies.

  • Don't know how I missed this. Received a free paper today and thought I was smart posting it in the forums. Alas, it was already listed as a bargain.

  • fuck i forgot about it LOL :(

  • So I spent my $5 and no free paper offered. Did you have to ask for it?

    • can i neg this deal if you didn't get the paper for free?

i got $5 spend, got the paper - scanned my card and didn't get it for free. wtf

i said to the chick and she goes, did you get the email, and i go no i didn't thinking i saw it on ozbargain, i got punked

      • lol. Enjoy your paper :)
